A high resolution texture pack will arrive as a free update for Fallout 4 next week, Bethesda announced. The announcement included a single screenshot, which you can see and enlarge above, plus a note that you'll need a smidgen of extra room for the texture pack: an additional 58 GB.
Your PC will also need to meet or exceed the recommended specs:
• Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
• Intel Core i7-5820K or better
• GTX 1080 8GB/AMD Radeon RX 490 8GB
• 8GB+ Ram
If you try it and find your PC isn't up to the task, Bethesda says you'll be able to disable the texture pack through the game's launcher.

1 ReplyWill it finally look like a new gen game?
-
2 RepliesIt just makes the textures less grainy, and for 58 gigs? If I were to use up that much of my hard drive I'd want some EA Battlefront realism-type mod (pictured above).
-
5 RepliesNice. Bethesda loves to mess up a good thing.

2 RepliesI clicked on this thread wondering if the ps4 could get this mod and I guess it won't lol. 58 gig is insane and it better deliver vr hi def life like quality for that much space. idk

26 RepliesWhy does it have to be pc only

1 ReplyPeople still play Fallout 4? If you're playing for mods just go to New Vegas...

>1080 >on Gamebryo HAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Is it really worth downloading? Probably not, even if it is free.

RX 490. Kek.
the RX 490 is not a thing. The highest is the 480.
-
You would think they would move on and not bring their less desired game to attention.
-
I bet there won't even be noticeable differences after the patch.. xD
-
It would have been helpful if they had more images, not that that would really give you an idea of quality.

58 gigs sounds huge, but at least the gamers that have 1080s will get there moneys worth.
