I was thinking earlier today about the beginning of Skyrim. Ralof said that they were caught trying to cross the border. Why was Ulfric trying to cross the border? My guess is he was heading for hammerfell to get an alliance. Or maybe he was returning from hammerfell with an alliance already established? Whatever the case, he wouldn't leave the home he is fighting to defend without a good reason.

They were trying to run into a better game

5 RepliesYou the character we're trying to cross the border from Cyrodiil to Skyrim. A battle broke out around that area and you were taken prisoner along with the storm cloaks. Wrong place at the wrong time basically. But then turned into the right place at the right time so it's all good.

The stoemcloaks were doing something, and got ambushed by imperials, as far as I remember. Something along those lines anyways.
-
Ulfric probably wanted to get some heat off himself, lay low until he could form a strategy.

1 ReplyIt's almost like the writing in that game is terrible...

I say it's another excuse of a prisoner beginning.

It's a metaphor for the current immigration debate.

He was trying to cross the border into a better elder scrolls game
-
I guess he went for a walk to clear his mind and ended up accidentally getting arrested for crossing the border.
-
He was chasing a dark elf, then forgot he crossed the border.

Edited by shell: 1/24/2017 8:43:55 PMMaybe he was planning an attack on Helgen? That wouldn't make sense, though... Ulfric isn't stupid enough to join an attack on Whiterun territory. There is actually no reason for him to be on the borders, considering that most of Skyrim's borders are near the Imperial provinces of Cyrodiil and High Rock. The great houses of Morrowind mostly sympathize with the Empire, and there is no way the Alik'r would help anyone outside of Hammerfall.
