Your first exotic. Ever
Just curious to see what everyone's first exotic is, if you can tell us when you got it then that's even better.
Mine was a hard light from crucible in Y1 about 4 weeks after the game released, I was super hyped at the time but then I realised how bad it was...
This has gotten so much attention, it's really cool to hear about people's first exotics and when they got them, no one ever forgets their first exotic.

Icebreaker from Xur. Used that to get Thorn, my second exotic.

Thunderlord from a blue engram (yes, blue) when i was lv 18, back in 2014 in the first week of the game. Couldnt even equip it due to its lv 20 requirement :/

Gjallarhorn from Xur back in 2014, the second week he was around.

First weapon was bad juju. First armor was heart of the praxic fire. I still remember how happy I was taking that combo into the strike playlist and just making the fusion grenades rain.

Dragon's Breath. I sat with my headset on walking in on this new world that I knew nothing about. So I got a few legendary engrams but most of them were blue. So The Dark Below rolled around and I got one for the heavy slot and thought "Oh great, another blue,". So I opened it and to my surprise, it was the Dragon's Breath. I used to use it all the time when it was my only exotic. Yeah I got made fun of and roasted all the time for using it, but it meant something to me (in Destiny at least).

My first armor was a Xûrned CoAL (Hunter) back in TDB. My second exotic (and first weapon) was Invective from the OG quest.

Pre-Nerf suros regime. Got it as a post game reward from a Tiger strike way back when that was still a thing. Loved that gun and it's original firing sound

Red death from xur, I believe. It was months before I knew xur was a thing. Just happened upon him one day.
