Option to disable commentary in PVP activities
This has bothered me for a while but only more became obvious when trying to do SRL of recent.
The commentary wether it be from Shaxx, Holliday or even Ghost can be annoying and sometimes distracting when either trying to fight or race. Can we have some kind of option to disable commentary during such activities? Can't tell you how many times I have either crashed or died to someone cause someone is yapping in my ear about how my team lost the lead, what lap it is or ghost complaining about me not being in first place anymore.
I don't care, I just want to focus on the task at hand.

What gets me is, they add these stupid quips in about being behind, losing, whatever, and then you look at the scoreboard a there's red and yellow bars topping it. Seriously give it a rest. The game creators can't be bothered to do -blam!- all about the lag, I shouldn't be hearing crap from an announcer. I'm with you. If it were like halo, for killstreaks, mulit-kills, that's cool. I don't need encouragement from shaxx when there's a redbar teleporting all over the place. It's annoying.

This is a feature that is available in probably every major game on the market! I agree completely and have been saying this since week 1... Unfortunately this forum is full of contrary people that thumbs down even the stuff that has no impact on them... The commentary does absolutely nothing for the game... And option to mute it would be very simple... /thumbsup

I get where you're coming from also I feel like in the last few updates Bungie has done a decent job cleaning up the commentary. some of the worst and most insulting stuff from Shaxx is really toned down now, and he seems a lot more sympathetic when you lose. This is a good trend, really reduces stress when playing PvP.

4 RepliesEdited by SilentFight2411: 12/24/2016 7:31:32 PMSpeaking as a generally bad PvP player (although I've improved since I started playing, .4 to .8 KD) it adds to the excitement at least for me anyway. I'll never forget getting my 1 & only "Reign of Terror" medal (so far), I was so excited when that medal flew across my screen & Shaxx said something about it. I can't recall what he said now (maybe a much better & more experienced PvPer can help me out with what he says). As far as being able to mute the commentary, over the years of gaming some of us can ignore it easier than others I guess. It could also be a mood thing too probably.
