For the love of god please stop nerfing weapons in PVE.
Please explain to me why shotguns need a nerf? I never use them except for strikes and now we are looking at the 7th or 8th nerf for these weapons. The weapon tuning should not effect PVE unless it is a buff. In the end it's really an annoyance.
Maybe the sandbox team should look at why nobody uses certain weapon types and focus on that instead of continuously making the game slower with time to kill for weapons. I don't want to play a game that is slow.
They gave shotguns a damage buff in PVE after the 2nd or 3rd shotgun nerf. I clearly remember reading the patch notes using a Crota end shotgun while shooting Pratorians opening the VoG. I think it was right around the house of wolves.
Specifically the incoming Matador nerf. If they take the range boosting perks away then maybe give shotguns a base range buff for PvE?

5 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 12/19/2016 4:23:31 AMYou do realize you are asking Luke smith to do something he is incapable of doing right? Meaning the idiot has no clue how to work around the environment that he helped create. This is Bungie's fault for letting someone that is incompetent become lead and will be this games downfall...

This MAY be one of the reasons why they are looking at making Destiny 2 a complete reboot. They said they want to fix major issues which plague the game, and that is only possible with a total reboot. They didn't state this specifically, but this could be one of the changes they were eyeballing. One of the arguments for why they haven't done this already is that they lack the ability to deviate weapon performance in PVE and PVP by any other means except damage. Not sure I buy the argument, some have made pretty compelling arguments on the topic. Unfortunately, this has been one of the most requested balance changes for this game, and Bungie has yet to issue a comment about it, so everything regarding this topic is all speculation. However, if they DO make Destiny 2 a complete reboot, and they DO separate PVP balance from PVE, and they DO make the game more like Y1 than Y2, it might be a game worth trying - after about 3 months after launch....

6 RepliesCan't happen. I agree, I hate the nerfs, but Bungie painted themselves into a corner by creating infinite weapon varieties and then linking them to both PvE and PvP. You just can't have one weapon acting 2 different ways. Only way they could do it is have set Crucible weapons that you can't use in PvE, and vice versa. Hopefully they figure it out in Destiny 2.

Yup. No one gets what they want - PvP wants balance, PvE wants power. Can't have both. I commend Bungie on the idea, but the experiment is over. It failed, miserably.
-
How about we just divorce pvp from pve entirely

1 ReplyI've been saying it for over two years now, old news quit wasting your time. Bungie doesn't give AF. Destiny is just a joke now.
-
Bungie's too lazy to separate the two. Jon W. will come up with another illogical lame excuse:
-
That would be too much work for Bungie, Bungie don't like work.

3 RepliesThey will never do this. The specifically said that buffs and nerfs will effect both pvp and pve equally. Cuba are supposed to preform consistently from one activity to the next. This is why the weapon patches are so difficult. There a lot of factors and variables to try to account for.

26 RepliesEdited by Hoops: 12/18/2016 11:12:16 AMNo. I get your point but I prefer weapons performing the same in every activity. I hate it how every good gun is nerfed instead of buffing weaker ones but seperating them is not the answer. Unfortuately a large part of the community wants this game to be easy. A perfect example is the number of posts complaining about srl being too hard.

1 ReplyBump, I've been saying it since the very first auto nerf1.1.1 or whatever it was, imo pve has been screwed over so many times in destiny it is almost unplayable
-
1 ReplyPeople been asking for this since yr 1. Hope they implement it by D2

1 ReplyI can only pray for this but I seriously doubt it will happen. Bungie will nerf shotguns to the ground instead of buffing anything. I think some of these pvp guys won't be happy until they're using spit balls.

6 RepliesI happen to like my gear functioning the same in all activities. There hasn't been one weapon patch that made any part of PvE any harder, it may have made us use different strategies or take another minute but nothing has become any more difficult.
