I was playing Iron Banner with a group of friends on Destiny for Xbox One.
However 100XP away from Rank 5 in Iron Banner I get a message saying that I have been Restricted from Destiny PvP?
I HAVE NOT violated that Polices listed that determine Bans or Restricted up to my knowledge. I DO NOT Lagswitch, Ddos, Mod or whatever. I have not been Flawless Year 3 in Trials so I do not Cheat in PvP at all.
I live in New Zealand and my friends live in U.S.A and they are even still saying they did not get any evidence or indication of me lagging in game and party. I check EVERY TIME after I die to see Green, Yellow, Red Bar connection and I was GREEN BAR 90%, If not HIGH YELLOW.
My internet is not fiber and should not have to be, I would understand if I received any warning of my connection influencing the game, if so I would of happily left and come back another day or few hours. Reset my router and other methods to try improve the connection.
Download Speed: 1.89Mbs
Upload Speed: 0.68Mbs
Packet Loss: 0%
MTU: 1480
Latency: 217 ms
Wireless Strength: 87%
Restricted from PvP for a week, when reset for Iron Banner is few days away is purely insulting, I missed out first time when Iron Banner came out due to Family/Personal Reasons. I strongly believe and so do my friends that I have falsely accused and restricted from PvP for the wrong Reason.
This behavior includes:

Intentionally deriving gameplay benefit from another user’s behavior in the above categories.
Unauthorized access to Destiny software or downloadable content (game piracy).
Impersonating a Bungie, Microsoft, Sony, or Activision employee.
NOTHING LISTED ABOVE I HAVE DONE INTENTIONALLY. Lift the Restriction please, I love this game.

24 RepliesHey WPG Anarchy, Bans are a permanent punishment, while restrictions are only temporary. Bungie will not discuss or overturn bans or restrictions under any circumstances. For more information on the matter, please see the Destiny Account Restrictions and Banning Policies: https://www.bungie.net/en/help/article/11929 Bungie does not hand out bans/restrictions due to false reports. Users are investigated very thoroughly before any kind ban/restriction is given. https://twitter.com/deej_bng/status/738841560738070529 If your restriction was received due to connection issues, please see the Network Troubleshooting Guide for some recommendations on what you can do to help your connection: https://www.bungie.net/en/Support/Troubleshoot?oid=12915

I too am in NZ. I have just upgraded to Spark fibre and specifically emphasised the requirement for the latest modem and connections for gaming. My speeds are much better than yours. I just jump into games and play for the fun of it as although I have played since year one I never played crucible before the ROI. Today whilst playing destiny I was able to get Spark to run a diagnostic for any lag and the like. They told me I was fine but they made something very clear. You must be HARDWIRED and NO WiFi. That is what I was told so I connected with commercial quality cables directly into the modem. Hope this helped. Good luck.

Also in nz. On spark fibre. Play with uk and us players for games and raid. Ping to xbox servers are 200-240 ms Constant green bar. Sounds like you need to change isps.

1 ReplyEdited by Deadmennwalking: 12/12/2016 1:43:47 AMYet another lagging red bar warrior that chose to play crucible and then comes onto the forums to complain about being temporarily restriction. Use the time wisely or expect more restrictions.

And don't let the door hit you on the way out

1 ReplyEdited by chickengoujohn93: 12/11/2016 7:37:56 PMNo point posting on these forums. Red bars are the most vilified thing in this game, youre just going to get a lot of unnecessary hate regardless of whether or not you posted a viable explanation. Lets face it, the report system is used too loosely in this game. You could have killed a guy fair a square but the fact that you may have been red-barring will always end up in a report. The shit in PvP is taken way out of context in this game. More children playing this game than any sensible human being. So they are the majority and listened to. Don't take it to heart any person who likes PvP doesn't play Destiny for their PvP fix.

Your connection is shite. You answered your own question really when you posted your connection stats. 217 ms latency and .66 upload are horrible. I'm glad they restricted you. They should ban you permanently from pvp.

I suggest buying halo5 problem solved
I live in New Zealand and my friends live in U.S.A
Bingo, heres your problem. There is no chance you can play Destiny with americans with those kinds of download speeds, im amazed that you can get green bar at all. Temp bans are for people with poor connections not just for people who are thought to be cheating. You got banned because your connection is horrible.

24 Repliesyou forgot to mention playing with poor internet connection!! by your own admission you've less than 2 gig download, plus the fact you playing with others in the US... i'm not surprised you got a restriction. get better internet, fix your modem or stop playing

7 RepliesEdited by hoorayforkyle: 12/10/2016 2:03:15 AMThat is a very low connection speed and bad ping. As a general rule of thumb, you need a minimum 1 MBPS of upload speed to run crucible without lagging on other guardians screens. That is also a very high ping, meaning it takes on average 215ms for anything your console sends out to the others, which in the world of destiny, is a long time. Unfortunately, when you have low connection speeds as such and high ping, you negatively impact others experience in the game. On their screens, you will appear as teleporting, as your connection can't adequately and quickly communicate your positioning and actions. Your best bet is to contact your ISP to see if there is any way to upgrade the speed. If it is not improved and you go back in to crucible, you run a high likelihood of being restricted further or possibly banned. Ultimately, you're responsible for your connection, and a stable connection is required to run destiny smooth.

You will have to ride it out until it's over. Most likely you'll receive another one shortly after if your internet connection doesn't get better.
