Thorn quest tips
I'm looking for some tips on the crucible portion of the thorn quest, like is there an easier way to do it besides using void weapons (not counting void-subclass because using defender in crucible is like pulling teeth for me)
Edit: I'm also extremely bad at crucible and my connection to the internet is complete shit.

1 ReplyI have to admit I only run quests on my warlock so it was easy to get the void ability kills in the crucible however I found equipping a void sidearm made quite the difference in progression. Heavy weapons are pretty useless for the crucible step just because of a general lack of kills with heavy. You may get the random multi kill with a rocket but most matches I either don't even get heavy or get a single kill with it. Secondary weapons is likely your best bet. A void shotgun, fusion, or especially sidearm can make net you large chunks of the requirement per match while maintaining the enjoyment of the game. Titans kinda got screwed on the thorn quest honestly. Both hunters and especially warlocks have much easier paths to complete that step.

What I did was run defender with armor of light with a void shotgun and it worked[spoiler]just put in a good spot [/spoiler]

2 RepliesHavoc pigeon, if you still have it, is one of the greatest secondary weapons. I found that I never lost a gunfight. If all of your weapons are void, I also used Word of Crota, then it is really easy.

What I did was run Crotas End and got the Word of Crota (void handcannon) the Dead Orbit shotgun, and Truth. For the skeleton key fase what I did was run 320 strikes and got the skeleton key on my 4th strike. The Thorn is my personal favorite gun and I am super happy I got it. Reply to me if this helped

Just use void weapons and a subclass. Not hard. It might take you 1-4 hours depending on how well you do. In one game I was able to get it to 14%.

Atheons epilogue Void sniper Truth Void subclass with 2x grenades Mayhem doesn't hurt if you're not a Titan Don't suck or suck it up and deal with it

Wait for mayhem. As long as you're not a defender this is your best option. Wait in the back for your super, run out and get some kills with it Always try and get some grenade kills too if you can

I am defender too and the guns i used were Word of Crota and ~QUANTIPLASM. I got it done in 2 days and i actually did pretty well with them, i got 2 10 killstreaks and my first 15 killstreak

Just void versions If you have any year 1 primary elemental weapons and you are comfortable using them then that's fine as well Basically, use whatever you want and take your time. There's no rush. It doesn't matter whether it takes 1 game or a month, you'll still compete the quest and never use Thorn afterwards [spoiler]I've done it 3 times now and never fired Thorn[/spoiler]

1 ReplyJust play. All you need is void kills. If you focus on the number or % left it will drive you crazy. In year one deaths would take progress away. This quest is not so bad.

I hate the crucible and I'm pretty bad at it. Ran with a void sidearm and got it done in a few games. Sidearms spawn with ammo. Also, run supremacy. The gun sucks though and is pretty much pvp only. But good luck :)

Get a void shotty void heavy and if you can do an old raid get a void primary about it

I knocked out the crucible part last Iron Banner in less than 15 rounds using Telesto and I'm not very good. The bounty is cake now compared to what it was in year 1.

1 ReplyUse defender with magnetic grenades, armamentarium, void special and heavy, primary if you have it, and just play. You'll get it done eventually.

Try the Memory of Felwinter to make your defender more useful, I enjoy defender in crucible anyway I think it's a nicely rounded class with or without the bubble. Blessings of Light can be a game changer in Rift so maybe you can get some positive feels in the upcoming Iron Banner.

1 ReplyUse Nightstalker or Voidwalker. Use Atheons Epilogue or Word of Crota. Use any void secondary or Heavy. I recommend a Void shotgun or fusion rifle.

2 RepliesTry Armamentarium with Magnetic Grenades. VoG for Atheons Epilogue, but Crota is probably the easiest/quickest way to get a Void primary. Any Mayhem playlist will get you nades quicker. Camp heavy with a shotty, and pop a bubble when it's coming in. 95% of players (me included!) can't help but challenge the disco dome

Atheon's Epilogue Word of Crota If you're feeling ballsy you can even try Skolas for a Void primary.
