12 RepliesWant to compare good SBMM to bad SBMM? Play Titanfall 2. I haven't had a single lag switcher or invisble players (aside the shadows) people will bitch about the weapons being OP or class is OP or some shit. Hell all weapons are overkill in Titanfall 2. You can literally us a pistol to kill all other players minus Titans though you can blast it with a LMG. Destiny has just fallen apart in the last few days. Its sad that I have every new fps and 3rd person shooter and I now stick to Titanfall 2 and the few single player games I bought on Cyber Monday. Can't beat Titanfall 2 for $28 at Walmart.

3 RepliesIt honestly wouldn't be so bad if they didn't try to matchmake with people across oceans. Now that I have a Netduma, I can force it to keep my matches within the US. That's made a HUGE difference for me. Sure there's still the occasional lag, but it's not NEAR as bad as it used to be. Maybe instead of asking them to remove SBMM, we should ask them to keep our lobbies more local.

Edited by The 7th fall: 12/2/2016 10:05:18 AMWhat do you expect? Bungie worked so hard to implement this system, so why turn back now hmm? At this rate either grit your teeth and bear the stupidity that which is Nerfstiny, or do what a lot of us are doing: Quit playing Nerfstiny and move on to another PvP game. There's Titanfall 2, CoD, Battefield, Planetside 2(old I know), hell I even saw a youtube video that a potential DUST514 under a different title might make a comeback on the PS4. If Bungie won't listen to it's players and fans atop their ivory tower they'll sure as hell have to start listening when their cash flow runs dry.

Destiny PVP is disgusting. If you're still playing it at this point then you know what you're getting in to. It's gotten so bad that I have to spend an hour looking for people to do strikes and Archon's Forge, play for 30 minutes and back to looking for people again.

Ooof. So many Crucible matches just like that one. Glad to be on a break from playing!

Edited by Stari: 12/2/2016 1:14:49 PMBump! The most whiners in this topic didn't even watch the video. They think that people want to get rid of SBMM, so they will be matched with worse players. They don't understand that you just want a normal gameplay for a 2016 FPS. (without lag and latency) And those "pro's" wouldn't be that famous, if they didn't have a latency advantage most of the time. Have played a couple of them in the past and my bullets didn't do damage and i was 90% damaged from a primary, before i even saw them appear on my screen. That was really fair gameplay.....for them ;)

Leave the game, that's what I did.

17 RepliesHonestly, people should just stop playing. There are many better PVP and PVE games available right now.

Here is my #1 problem with SBMM - My friends do not want to play with me, so i have to go solo. Why? Because they do not have any fun getting rolled over all game. SBMM makes it so players dont play with others.. nice job Bungie #morons

1 Replyconnection should always take priority which it doesn't its been proven time and time again. there are people who are really good at the game and people who could be better if things like what this video displayed weren't constantly happening. also many people who while they are very skilled also have a team of good friends who are the ones people cry about pub stomping in 6v6 games. i dont know if anyone remembers halo reach btb swapping banshees getting unfrigs and just spawn killing bad teams but its an easy way to farm a good k/d just like a bunch of 2.0 - 6.0 k/d players running 6's in control or rift spawn trapping randoms. these people sound like idiots saying how sbmm works when skill isnt what causes lag in a game and matching people based on skill contradicts saying they are going by connection then they say " you dont know what lag is because you have a low k/d". what the hell does that mean? a person with a .5 k/d or a 5.0 k/d cant distinguish when the things in this video are happening in their game? i have over a 2.0 k/d and i can tell you i've seen exactly this video in game on many occasions and i make sure my internet is at 100% before i play, i have verizon fios quantum 300/300, i dont stream, i dont use wi-fi, i dont have any other devices using the internet while i play and i still get lag constantly in destiny. even if we can't get actual servers to make the crucible decent many other games at least let you pick your region to connect to, theres no reason if you live in say montana or louisiana you should be playing people inmaybe australia or france because there's no way that matches the best connection

Edited by drvankmen: 12/2/2016 3:05:00 PMI cannot comprehend how people can actually want manipulation of matchmaking that specifically has to make compromises to the quality of the game and attempts to control and predict the outcomes of games. I could care less about the outcome of a game i solo queue into. I have NO control over the other people on my team. We don't even have lobby chat for basic communication... The only thing i have control over is my gameplay. Because of this i want the best possible connection every game. Connections range from transparent to miserable practically every game i play and i experience the full range of ok to terrible throughout the course of each game. The worst thing however is the utter soulcrushing lack of variety in games. Every game, everyone i face is the same. They spec and play the same way...and the game inevitably unfolds in the same way. I want a dynamic experience from lobby to lobby. I want to face youtubers one lobby and afk players the next and everything in between. Let me face off against the Destiny community, and give me the best possible connection to do so. That way you have NODOBY to blame but yourself for the outcome of YOUR Game.

11 RepliesEdited by jnikoley: 12/2/2016 2:39:02 PMThe problem with skill-based matchmaking is that it often results in being matched against players literally across the world. This can have no other affect than to cause lag. I fail to comprehend why anyone would defend a system that regularly will match you with players 13,000+ km away. Combine this with how destiny connects players to one another. It's not peer to peer only. Bungie calls it "shared world shooter", and this means that part of the match is managed by an activity host which runs on a public server in the cloud. The Activity host is responsible for awarding points for bullet hits and kills (among some other things). If the game pics an activity host across the world, players closer to that activity host have a massive advantage over the other players. Combine this with bungies exclusive way of compensating for lag. They call this "damage referee". The damage referee is supposed to compensate for players that have lag so that they will not have an advantage. That's debatable. What it actually does, is to essentially throw away some of your bullet hits and not calculate damage for them. This contributes to "ghost bullets", and creates perceived lag. There are many other games that use peer to peer connections, but because they use connection-based matchmaking, no activity host running in a cloud, and no damage referee, they run much smoother. Because of destiny's net code, changing skill-based matchmaking to connection-based matchmaking wouldn't fix all of the problems, but it would result in a massive improvement. Most of the arguments that I've seen revolving against connection-based matchmaking say "oh you just want to pub stomp". Look at my KD. I won't be pub stomping anyone, but I would much rather know that it is my skill that is resulting in my wins or losses rather than the connection to the other players giving one side or the other the advantage. TL/DR get rid of SBMM. It's shit. sources: http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1022247/Shared-World-Shooter-Destiny-s https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/44307

Honestly it just needs to be adjusted

Feedback? Oh, you mean the minority of gamers who spit on Bungie and call it "criticism". This forum is a small portion of the playerbase. You cannot subject to a minority rule over the majority rights. If Bungie where to listen to any of you guys, this game would be in a worse state then it already is.

Asking Bungie to remove sweaty based matchmaking? LOL

1 ReplyI like sbmm. Not everyone agrees with you..

Edited by mrbird33: 12/2/2016 2:37:24 PMSbmm is fine. No need for change

There is a difference. Bungie did make some changes. You may not get the consistent slaughters you asked for, but you are getting many more matches that are one-sided. I have been matched to them, with many already in progress. So this is true. One side effect of your request is that there are now a lot more people leaving matches. So, yes, Bungie did listen to you.

Well, for or against SBMM aside, the music and looney toons finish are funny. I laughed

Play private matchs till something changes.
