Hello Destiny/Players/Fans,
What's up with periodically being kicked from a Destiny PVP matches (Control, Clash, Skirmish, Etc.) when my download speeds are approx 178 Mbps and my uploads are approx 50 Mbps....??? I utilize a Hitron router/modem and have set up IP Passthrough. Not mention, I'm connected with an Ethernet cable (Hard wired), not through wifi. Like I said, a Boss set up to the best of my knowledge.... So I'm starting to get really ticked when I'm kicked or there's serious leg! Right after I'm kicked from a match there's a bulletin that pops up with something on the lines of, if the problem persists check your network/internet... WTF??? No Destiny, I believe it's not my internet, it's something on your end isn't it... ??? If there's anything I can do to make my PVP or overall Destiny experience better please please let me know.
Thanks,
Joe

Try testing for packet loss. I would suggest using DSL reports packet loss/ping/jitter test that can be run from your PlayStation web browser. http://www.dslreports.com/pingtest It'll give you a letter score A-F. If the test identifies packet loss to local servers, you will need to contact your ISP.

5 RepliesIf you are getting kicked, there are problems you are not seeing with your internet. Your highway speeds may be good from your provider but if the road that you drive on is full of potholes (packet loss) or tractor trailer trucks (blocks, lag) or forces you to change lanes constantly (jitter), then it doesn't matter you are going to lose connection. This cannot be on Bungie's side again as I have stated before because there are no hosting servers for this game. This game not only requires speed, but quality equipment (never heard of hitron ever), quality network cables (always should be wired, preferably CAT6 or better), a properly configured router (IP passthrough is not the only thing; port forwarding and uPNP is also important), and your console latching onto a proper port for the uPnP as well. What are your speeds as reported FROM your console? What is the packet loss, jitter, etc? What kind of speed tests results do you get testing going to Washington state?
