For some it's simply convenience. No worrying about software updates, patches, builds and things of the sort. Buy it, plug it in done.
-
Id say couch convenience but thats not true any more steam you can download the games and play them on your couch with better graphics so

It just comes down to personal preference, exclusives and budget, other than that people are just uniformed. I don't like sitting at a desk and using a keyboard and mouse to play games - well here I am on my couch playing Skyrim (that's on my PC) from my 42 inch TV using an Xbox One and keyboard setup. Not all games run - well apart from the general differences in performance you can find per each game it's the same with console, now I can't say the same for everyone but I wouldn't put a PS4 disc into a PS3 and expect it to work which is what people are essentially doing with PC. As for budget one thing to keep in mind is the amount more things you can do on a PC than you could on a console not to mention the ever increasing number of exclusives, the more you do with it the more worth while your investment is

4 RepliesI don't understand why people prefer PC over console to be honest...
-
6 RepliesThere's no 'objective' argument for either side Gamers choose which platform to use based on their needs and preferences for exclusives. For instance, somebody looking for a good split screen platform for parties will likely choose the Wii-U for Mario Kart 8, Smash 4 and Super Mario 3D world, if not an earlier generation console over the U's rivals.

Simplicity is the biggest reason.

4 RepliesI put a game in and it plays. I got turned off of PC gaming when I was a kid in the early 90s. I bought a game and couldn't wait to play it, but my parents PC couldn't run it. Since then I have been a console gamer.

Exclusives.

Edited by RübblyRanch: 12/2/2016 2:40:14 AMI swear, people are just waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too misinformed. But there are some games I would rather play on console than PC. And vice versa.

7 RepliesMore comfortable controller and more comfortable laying on bed/sofa than sitting in a chair

That sexy startup screen and music when you turn it on. 🍆💦 🍆💦

Two generations ago maybe. When you could pay a relatively lower price for a plug n' play library of games you could play in your living room. A time when devs were taking all kinds of risks. Most didn't pan out. But there were real gems. But now. Idk. Consoles are overly complicated, just as buggy and take longer to patch then PC titles. There's fewer titles being released each year and most of the gems are in the indie market now. Devs are moving farther from creating art and choose more often to simply manufacture games. Ok mini rant over.

5 RepliesPC controls are just weird, id rather relax on a couch laying down with a hand held controller than sitting upright in a hand on keyboard and mouse fashion

People have preferences, and budgets

Convenience of setup and not having to worry about specs.

6 RepliesNot everybody wants invest themselves into gaming so much. Id take my little ps4(which gives me jut as much fun) over a PC anyway. And there is no master race when it comes to video games because it's.......video games lol

Edited by Moonman: 12/1/2016 12:52:51 PMFact wise no unless you count the play anywhere MS is trying to implement. Preference wise yes, especially if you have friends to play with.

18 RepliesEdited by Oblixious: 12/1/2016 1:55:32 PMPeople saying consoles are more social are just wrong. Unless you have a WII U and you have a bunch of friends over and couch game then sure. But PC has team speak and discord and skype. They're basically equal.

Not having to worry about being able to run a game.

Why can they make a console with PC powers? We have VR for goodness sake.
