So I raided with some randoms. The team struggled through every part. Seemed like decent group of guys so I stuck around. My mistake. We reach Aksis phase 2 and I have to deal with some Best Buy clerk trying to teach us how to play. He kept over talking the challenge mode.
Right...Middle...Left empowered. That's it...that all that needed to be said! After every slam he feels the need to call out "middle right, middle left. Back left. What the hell happened to "empowered right, middle, or left".
Then he tries to give us a speech on why him saying that is helpful. Helpful to his sad existence...it helps him to hear himself speak. That was the saltiest that I've ever felt leaving a raid.
That was just me venting...thanks guardians. But seriously...if you aren't calling your empowered side just shut the f*ck up!

If you don't like the guy, 5 man it. It's really not hard.

4 RepliesEdited by RSebire: 11/25/2016 11:00:23 AMHere's one for you "shut up you prat" If you don't like the group, go back to the LFG, but talking about somebody without their permission, behind their back if you will, entitles you to "automatic fail of the day" And to think you've only been playing for 2 years, and now you seem to think to you can dictate whom says what and when. Ever thought it's just a game?.....

41 RepliesIf an lfg post says "400, emblem required, kick if you don't meet requirements" just ignore it. the op sucks and got carried through once so now they have the emblem. Look at your teams grimoire when you join, if the average is under 4800, start looking for another while you play

I know him

2 RepliesBasically every LFG group I end up in has one of those guys who never stfu and/or the "raid pro", who feels the need to explain everything despite that everyone has been through it 498739 times already and no one asked for a rundown. The only exception to this pattern is when a group of friends just need 1-2 more. I'm perfectly fine with them talking to eachother because it's actually a discussion - and not a freaking monologue.

Edited by Ahhsenberg: 11/27/2016 1:48:51 PMI'm sorry, but you don't have to be playing Raids like you're a in a Spec Ops assignment unless you're MAYBE in hard mode. It's a game. Learn to be a bit social instead of being a try hard asshat.

2 RepliesI'm gonna have to start creating my own groups or something. My second and third characters are 385ish and I don't do anything with them except raid for more loot. I don't join groups that ask for 395+ or any higher light than mine because that's their requirements and I at least expect that much if they put in the requirement. But I join groups with no requirement. Every single one this week initially worries about my 385 light level. I either stay off Mic till Aksis or assure them I can hold my own. Every single group this week has had high 390s. Every single group has been atrocious. I'm even playing with a muther effin Voidwalker on my third character, the one I'm not so great with, but still know all mechanics and all challenges and am the last one to die or botch a mechanic. Problem is, if I create my own group, I'll likely have no luck keeping members when they see my light, or I'll have ALL low light light guys who may be equally as atrocious as the high light coat hanger abortions in the other groups. <sigh> Kings Fall all over again.

1 ReplyStopped raiding after the second week of hard mode. Rather pointless when reaching 400 means nothing and the weapons and armor Aren't that great. Got to 400 just from crucible drops and trials chest.

Had that last night. This teenager just wouldn't stfu. He kept trying to small talk during the entire Aksis fight and it created a ridiculous amount of confusion. We finally told him to stfu and there was a good...15 second pause. And then he started talking about how there's SO many splicer keys on the ground..... Jesus...

13 RepliesOne time I inadvertantly caused multiple wipes by wearing Memory of Skorri. The glow from the artifact confused my teammates so much that I would be standing on the left side saying "we need an empowered person on left... uhh guys? can we get an empowered person on left?" but they thought I was empowered because of the blue-ish glow from the room and the gold glow from the artifact. I guess that's my bad, but they eventually asked me to take off the artifact and we cleared the boss no problem after that. Moral of the story: Don't wear Memory of Skorri during Aksis.

1 ReplyEdited by Gnostic Djent: 11/26/2016 10:11:51 AMThis o.p & more so some of the responses come across as "get the job done ASAP" no banter,no talking unless it's relevant.now I do get how annoying it can be if someone is trying to be shot caller when we pretty much know what we're doing but this"sh1t I might die,wow that was close, is all part of the fun in my opinion,if it's all about get in,get the job done get the loot, then imho a lot of the fun is sucked out of the experience.

25 RepliesDude, I feel your pain! I just had a similar experience this week. This kid on our team felt it necessary to broadcast every thought that floated through his brain. It sounded like this: "Wow, there are a lot of adds on my side...they're shooting me...I hope I don't die...Okay, I made it...I didn't die...I have a smoke grenade ready...If anyone needs to go invisible, let me know cause I have a smoke grenade ready...Does anyone need to go invisible?...I hope I get the boots this week..." I felt like I was playing the raid with Dory from Finding Nemo.

Same here. Some kid named Dwarf was screaming in his mic and I told him Shut the Hell up

I often think to myself before I have a gaming session....shall I whack destiny on and do a raid to help a few people out (I'm max light and really don't need anything in the game but I enjoy the raids) then I read these posts and think naaaaah titanfall 2 and farcry primal will be less stressful lol. Trouble is I think all the elite or just general nice and decent players have played the game to death and got what they needed and left. Leaving just the complete A holes and people who need to carried as they lack the ability to move there fingers in such ways to stay alive or complete a objective.

1 ReplyI understand your frustration with too much talk during Aksis -- and the raid in general. It drives me crazy because I want to focus on the activity, not hear what everyone is doing and other things going on in their life. Over a period of a few weeks I spent many hours with several groups trying to complete the Normal raid. It was a failure every time. Some of these raids took 7 hours. After so many failures I had reached the point where I thought I might never complete the raid. Instead of giving up, I sought help from a group that offers carries. They were outstanding. No excess chat. NO WIPES and very few deaths! Calm mannered and helpful. What a difference it makes when playing with such a group. We completed the raid in a short amount of time, and I had all monitors to trigger the Outbreak Prime quest. I want to complete the Record Book, so I will likely seek their help again.

8 RepliesHad a dude screaming at me that I needed to stop being a "ret**d" and use tether. I said no, I'm better with GG + CN, and I don't have night stalker unlocked. He still insisted I change, so I was like "yeah ok I'm not changing for this -blam!- so I'm just going to say I am". The lobby of all 400 WITH CHALLENGE EMBLEM, had a couple squeakers, and guess who -blam!-ed up more than anyone? The dude insisting I change. He also required complete and absolute silence at all times, and was generally an asshole. He freaked out when I had easily 200,000 more damage than everyone, including him, and wanted to know how I did it. I said GG + CN. He booted me.
-
This is the main reason why I never finish any raids because there's always that one guy whether he's a squeaker or a know-it-all. There's always people that ruin your raid experience.
-
39 RepliesI'm sick of the whole "395+" crap. Was in a group with all 400's last night and we could barely get to a damage phase at Aksis Phase 2. I finally had to call it after about 2 hours. I really don't care what your light level is. Are you good? So you know the fight? Can you stay alive? That's what matters
-
1 ReplyIndeed. That's all you need. Empowered left....empowered right! EMPOWERED MID! that's it......simple.

We need left side I'm on it
