As title states.
Edit:
There are a lot of misconceptions fabricated by those who don't understand SBMM and what I want done with it to help with lag.
Top 1% suffers the most due to low population and distance
Top 25% get introduced into more higher skilled lobbies especially with a poor connection. Some could say that this is fine so that there is room for improvement. But it should be balanced.
Top 50% have relatively smooth match making. Only if you have a good connection.
If you have a bad connection you still have a good chance at getting into laggy matches with higher skilled team mates and enemies.
Lower skilled players don't really complain about SBMM but again connection is a major factor in the outcome of the MM settings so I seldom see complaints.
A great solution would be.
To remove the algorithms that expand connection requirements and skill requirements. And introduce a GEO FILTER so that you will not connect to people outside of an area in your country or your country as a whole.
This suggestion will create an improved MM system. Longer times in orbit maybe. But we dealt with it in Y1. We can deal with it again. It depends on if you're comfortable with it.
Also if the community wants something and they realize it was a mistake. Then the developers should be able to recognize that it isn't fully working as intended and it needs a fix.

15 RepliesTakes me -blam!-ing 9 minutes to find a single match. Every single time. Think the "widening skill gap" part is a complete placebo

Edited by Uhtred Bray: 11/23/2016 4:18:37 AMThe explanation meant to serve as a no. Take it for what it is and move along it's not going away till destiny two if that.

1 ReplyWell, I think it would be important to know how a function works so we can see what is specifically wrong with it and how we can improve the experience for everyone... I dislike SBMM as well, but you can't simply say "It's broke, fix it" if you don't know what it is or why it's broken or how to fix it...

lmao pretty much

Does it really matter at this point is what Bungie is asking the community - Bungie will shortly be announcing Destiny 2. Don't worry about SBMM anymore, I know I don't because they won't change anything at this point. I'll bet my bottom dollar that Bungie is devoting everything to Destiny 2. What we are currently left with is a Skeleton crew to deal with minor issues and to oversee Eververse transactions. That's it. SRL is going to be another money grab. Deej will make a guest appearance in another update to hype up SRL whilst pissing on our faces and laughing his face off. One thing that MIGHT happen is the raising of the light level to 450 and making all raids relevant as one final hurrah to Destiny 1 in April 2017. But then again that's just wishful thinking.

9 RepliesNeed to present a valid argument. "Remove sbmm" isn't enough reason considering these forums cried for months to get it in the first place.

1 ReplySome honest questions, The only people who have all the data about playability and playerbase retention is Bungie. They collected a year of data with the year one system and then another year of data with the year two system and have now had 2 months to think about it. Don't you think that there must be a logical reason for them not to have reverted by now in year 3? Do you think they are doing it for ideological reasons?
