Loved the graphics, combat, enemies, etc but I just couldn't go on past the first area in TW3. Hardly enjoying any games these days with school and work
-
You really can't go wrong with either. I'd recommend if you've already played skyrim then you should definitely get the witcher 3 imo.
-
If you've never played either, I'd say skyrim. It's more welcoming than witcher. If you've played skyrim, don't buy the new release, witcher will yield the same hours played easily.

4 RepliesCan someone genuinely explain why the witcher 3 has bad combat? It's amazing.
if you don't like it fine, but it's idiotic to think skyrim has better combat.
-
4 RepliesI couldn't get into witcher. Didn't like the combat at all. The world was beautiful and what story I made myself playthrough, to give the game a fair chance, was solid. Just couldn't get past that damn combat system lol.
-
1 ReplyWitcher easily. I see what people mean when they say they can't get into it though. I eventually went back to it and bigly enjoyed it and I'm not even finished
-
4 RepliesSkyrim hands down I found the witcher 3 to be a chore to play I was trying to force my self to play it I kept telling myself it will get better all these people can't be wrong the only thing I found to be fun was gwent played that mini game a lot

3 RepliesSeriously the fact this poll is even close is saddening Witcher 3 was one of the best video games of all time Skyrim was a great game dont get me wrong I poured days and days into the game, walked every single -blam!-ing inch of that map, but Witcher 3's Missions, maps, and overall story just made it so much better. The plethora of enemies and decisions to be made added much more depth to it than Skyrim The cities and towns are way way better So much detail went into even the most obscure side missions. Random Side missions in Witcher are better than Skyrims main mission......... Witcher 3 is just better in nearly every single way

2 RepliesThe Witcher. After 300 hours of gameplay you can still discover new real quests instead of Skyrim's: "yeah I lost my bucket that was pretty deep in my family and I'd hate to lose it forever...if you find it I'll sell it to you though."

My experience with TW3 is limited to a 30 minute or so session at a friends house, and honestly it doesn't interest me so I can't speak on it. As for Skyrim, I've beaten all the factions, the main quest, and done all the major DLCs. Skyrim has so many fatal flaws that so many people look past for...no idea why. •First and foremost, the quest design. Something Bethesda doesn't understand. Almost every single quest can be boiled down to "go here, grab this, bring it back." With a few exceptions. The lack of variety and imagination in the quest design makes the game feel derivative and lackluster. This is especially noticeable in Fallout 4. Enter, Preston. People hated it there, but holy hell do people let it slide in Skyrim. •Secondly, the combat. Weapons all feel the same. Swords like axes. Axes like hammers. The only exceptions are daggers and great weapons, but all they do is slow down the same animations. Spells are just long range swords: you just spam R2 till the thing does the drop. Same with bows. Enemies all attack the same. Dragons attack like bears, bears attack like crabs, crabs attack like marauders, marauders attack like guards...and so on. •Characters are poorly written and have forgettable personalities. •The inclusion of the compass(goes for all RPGs with a compass) ruin all sense of exploration. Instead of figuring out where you go based on clues in the world around you, you're told exactly where you must go. If Bethesda had good level designers, they could lead the player on the correct path without telling them where to go. Or, just let the player figure it out. I know they can pull that off. Look at Morrowind. But, of course, Bethesda had to dumb down their games to cater to a larger audience. •Lack of choice or impact on the game world make your actions and decisions(or lack thereof) irrelevant. But you know, "best game ever made" amiright?

2 RepliesSkyrim for gameplay. Witcher for everything else.

Edited by mandog_123: 11/23/2016 5:30:54 AMFor the amount of content Witcher 3 has I'd go for it

13 RepliesI can't get into the Witcher 3, I'd enjoy it immensely if I could. Skyrim offers so many different ways to play though, automatically gets an edge because of the variety of builds. Just feels much more personal since it's not a pre-established character in the world.

23 RepliesSkyrim cuz 1st person view > 3rd person view...
-
I've never been able to get into TW3 no matter how much I try and sure with SSE it's a 64bit game but a number of the mods need updating to be usable before that is any use to me, so... neither.

Witcher 3, most certainly - at least in my opinion. Both are excellent games, but the storytelling and worldbuilding of the Witcher wins out for me.
-
13 RepliesThe big flaw in the witcher for me is the combat but otherwise the game is pretty good. But i have never played skyrim
-
11 RepliesSkyrim. The Witcher series doesn't seem appealing to me (tried the 2nd and didn't bother finishing it).
-
7 RepliesTES V: Skyrim Hell, I'd rather play Arena than slog through Witcher again.
-
The Witcher 3.
-
Witcher 3 hands down.
-
Can't say which one is more enjoyable as they both are awesome in their own way.
-
The Witcher 3
-
Both are enjoyable.. if you want a story driven RPG then play the Witcher if you want a sandbox RPG then play Skyrim
