Amidst all the protests going on about SBMM in Destiny, let's not forget about the stat whores who bypass the system by using a secondary low combat rating account, in order to pad stats on their main accounts.
These pathetic people purposefully create a secondary account with low combat ratings (like this one here). Using 2 console machines, they login to both their main account and secondary account, and join into a fireteam with the secondary account as the leader (or host).
By doing this and searching for matches, it effectively lowers the skill level of the lobby since SBMM averages out the combat rating across everyone in the fireteam, thereby allowing that main account to pubstomp everyone and pad his stats. They just make the secondary account quit (or "desert") the match once it begins in order to have an actual player join the match and even up the number of players.
All you need to do is look at the match history of that secondary account and you'll quickly see exactly who these stat whoring culprits are since only the same person (or people, in this case) use the secondary account over and over. Like this guy - he is topping variious ELO rankings on guardian.gg only because of his pathetic stat whoring skills using this secondary account in order to play against low skilled players. Seems like a few of his friends like this guy and this guy are doing the same thing using the same secondary account - these kinds of stat whores aren't just pathetic but also stupid, it seems.
Take note that this isn't exactly "smurfing," since these people aren't simply playing on a second new account. They actually use 2 consoles and 2 PS+ subscriptions - one for their main account and one for their secondary account - in order to bypass SBMM and pad their stats on the main account.
These incompetent noobs should have their accounts deleted or stats reset to zero for the sake of maintaining the integrity and competitive principles of the game. Spread the word and let the community know that these kinds of guys exist and are ruining the experience of those in the same lobby or skill level who play legitimately.

You shouldnt shame other players because bungie will remove youre post which would be a shame because you do have a point. Things like this happen and needs to be adressed.

Can't see how many there would be that are doing this, being that it requires 2 consoles and 2 copies of the game.

3 RepliesEdited by Akazaismyfriend: 11/16/2016 2:34:13 PMwho cares, you get nothing for being good at crucible. btw you should really check stats before posting people. I looked up 2 of the guys and they are 2200 elo, 2.4 KD in trials. There is no padding in trials. Your entire post is crap.
-
3 Repliesimagine being so upset by the prospect of someone having better stats than you that you make an entire post with an essay in it.
-
1 ReplyDoes it work for trials? If so. I will do this as a cheese just so sbmm gets patched.
-
i play with my sister and brother in law all the time because they are worse at crucible than me, they pull me into a worse skill tier and i can relax and still go positive, i'm cheating myself to a lower difficulty and i feel like i should because otherwise crucible is no fun if i have to sweat al the way through. i play crucible alone as well but if i do it takes me a match or 2 to get used to the 1.0 k/d people instead of the 0.8 ones, big difference there. i can go higher up the ladder if i want but i already dropped from 1.2 to 1.0 and i don't wanna climb back up.

Edited by Auzez: 11/17/2016 6:11:49 AMSee, people take the time to do so much just to even get in games that they would love to play in. Although it's scummy, it's very smart and I don't blame them honesty. People have pretty much lost their sanity playing crucible in this current state that people have to have secondary accounts, login them in and have them join them after every game, that seems too much. Again, I don't blame them, it just shows the effects of SBMM and how far people are going to bypass it.

16 RepliesEdited by ironBill: 11/16/2016 11:25:04 AMI'm not saying this isn't a thing, but... how many people actually do this? And let's face it... once this SBMM thing gets taken out, newbs and casuals will run from PvP as fast as their legs can carry them. Then people will be forced to have alt accounts to fill a lobby!
-
1 ReplyIf they want to spend a minimum of $340 to increase virtual stats in a noncompetitive game for no reason but to do it, I say let 'em.
-
1 ReplySeriously the lengths people go to and the money they spend just to cheat the system is unbelievable sometimes.
-
Yea, that's smurfing. Nothing new here.
-
NKuch (a big youtuber) is doing this and then proceeds to pubstomp people. Not a cool thing to do. I understand MM should be connection based, but intentionally creating a 2nd account just to get easier lobbies is a load of crap. As said I got fed up with red bar lobbies so I have taken a break. But I would never munipulate the system just for easy lobbies.

Edited by SwiftBMF: 11/17/2016 5:00:32 AMWell most people just join a buddy with a lower kd rating than themselves, you can see it in lobbys when theres that 1 guy or 2 guys stomping. Happens most in the 1.0 bracket.
-
Thanks for the tip, glad i have my ps4, and my new pro!
-
1 ReplyOH THE HORROR!!!!
-
I just join my 0.6 kd friend and go play that way
-
Oh well. Id almost do the same thing, sbmm needs to go.
-
Edited by Dekirk: 11/17/2016 1:47:20 AMMost high ranked players boost because they want to play with buddies who often have lower ratings. But what u r stating is down right awful.

3 RepliesWhat more sad is all the time you spend tracking all this...... for a pew pew video game.
-
3 RepliesHeck, if that's what floats their boat then have at it. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to pad your stats though. Really silly. What good are stats that don't reflect how you really are??? LOL.
-
3 RepliesI think you're missing the point here. I highly doubt that they're doing this to pad their stats, rather, they're doing it so they can have fun with PvP again. Most skilled PvP'ers fell in love with this game in Vanilla, and its nothing like Vanilla anymore. The fact that some people are willing to go out of their way and even pay for 2 PS+ subscriptions, just to have fun with this game speaks volumes to me.
-
Pfft. They wanna buy 2 ps4s, 2 Accts, 2 games? Hahaha wow let em.. id rather get laid
-
It's cheap, but I don't think it's cheating. After all, this is what pubs players have been doing since the days of Halo: CE. They play with the absolute worst players possible and have them host the game, so they can farm kids.
-
They want to buy all that extra shit for that go ahead. No way this is common enough to care
-
Hmmm you saying this makes me realize why I was able to kick so much ass during banner when I was helping a friend. I joined him he's not good at pvp an I'm decent so I figured id help him he was leader an started banner an I was constantly (wether it was on winning or losing team) I was at the top with 25 to 30 kills an I was like what I never do this good either I got lucky or something is up.
