I disagree. The drop rate for exclusive strike items was so damn low before keys were a thing. Think yourself lucky.

People that keep moaning about Skeleton Keys are missing the point!! Strike specific loot never had a high drop rate and so in turn nor does the Skeleton Key. Before Rise of Iron, how often did you get the Strike specific loot?! People would wait for the Nightfall and farm the thing for hours!! Skeleton keys are there just to help you decide what Strike loot you want. Do the 320 strikes. I used to speed run 5 each morning, and on average get a minimum of 1 Skeleton Key and 1 Exotic Engram with the use of a 3oC. ChrisHoppyBot

Why would they fix something that is working as intended?

4 Replieslets nerf the strike specific loot into the ground then make a consumable thats impossible to get. GG Bungie

1 ReplyAnd when you finally do get a Skeleton key, guess what? It's RNG if you even get the item you want. Trying to get an Imago Loop? You might get an Undying Mark or a Theosyion Vibrissae depending on what Strike you do. My solution? Make it so our first Nightfall completion per account gives a free Skeleton Key. That way, we'll have a guaranteed Key every week, and it'll give us more of a reason to do the Nightfall.

2 RepliesYeah they should you 50 skeleton keys every strike that way you can open the chests whenever you want and get all the loot really fast so we can complain about something else that we want handed to us just like that.

I concur. It is low. I might grind for a day or two for one skeleton key, that *might* get me a legendary in the chest, that *might* be the item I want, that *might* have the roll I want. (This is how long it took to to grind for a key to finally get my new Thorn). At this point, I'm not sure there is anything worth the frustration of that grind to mostly likely end up with something worthless to me. If Bungie wants us Grinding, I preferred Y2 when we would drop a good amount of legendaries, but they would often not have the right roll. You at least got some feeling of progress in the grind, and that is lacking with current key system and it's very low drop rates.

1 ReplyGot 2 recently, did 18 strikes. Used one to finish thorn quest, other to omnigul, which gave me 2 class items, yay.

Edited by RAIST5150: 11/14/2016 6:22:01 PMA bit on the fence about this topic. The easier list (one on the right) is reported as being roughly 1 within 10 strikes. Yesterday it took 5. Was cleaning up inventory at the end screen and it matched me for a 6th before I realized it...got another on that run, so went 2/6 yesterday. But that was far from the norm... Usually it is closer to 9 or 10 from what I hear others say. May be due in part to staying in the strike list rotation. Who knows...maybe that Vanguard boost isn't restricted to engrams? It is a bit tedious for sure...especially with how I like to horde gear. Try to keep sets to handle all elements and stat weighting (ie, I usually have 6 items in every group, if not more). So I pretty much HAVE to keep the laptop or phone up so I can grab engram's and manually shift them to the vault so the postmaster doesn't fill up on me.
