So something I've noticed is how the different Classes utilize Light to create their "Super."
Hunters seem to manifest or channel Light into a weapon, whether it be creating a physical weapon from that Light (Golden Gun and Nightstalker Bow) or simply channeling their Light into an already existing weapon (Arc Blade and the first use of Golden Gun by Shin Malphur).
Edit: Zelrons pointed out that Golden Gun is actually a normal Handcannon infused with Solar Light.
Warlocks on the other hand, they use themselves as a direct conduit in most cases. Radiance and Stormcaller are the most prevalent examples of this. Nova Bomb is as well, but to a lesser extent. It is more like how Hunters channel their Light, although Voidwalkers are not exactly manifesting a physical object from their Light. They are concentrating a large amount of Void Light that creates a volatile explosion when it hits something.
Titans...well, they seem to do a little of both. Fist of Havoc is an example of them channeling their Light through themselves, and Hammer of Sol is an example of them manifesting their Light into a (actually several) physical weapon. Ward of Dawn is probably best explained as an object that the Titan creates with their Light.
Any thoughts?
Edit 1: So this is creeping it's way up Trending....

13 RepliesEdited by TotalDramaGamer: 11/11/2016 5:01:48 AMI don't think Warlocks are so much 'focusing the light on themselves' or specific body parts. (The mind, the fist, the body.) I think it is more of different types of total immersion of light. Becoming pure Light. Warlocks let the Light change them, and then use that change for their purposes. -- The void is like a veil to be tapped and seeped into, to become lost in, something that is dark and hidden but burns brightly. The void is a sort of soul focused immersion. Capable of draining the normally intangible essence of one's enemies to a Warlocks side. They cannot augment their own body, but they become more powerful through the strength and life they steal from others. Voidwalkers, immersed with this light, learn to break the laws of logic and existence. That none can steal their power and attack in ways no one can defend. The sun, or solar light, seems like a total immersion of emotion and thought. Where the body becomes detached, weightless and the fire tears us down so we are built again, stronger and louder, bolder. Our fight turns to fury, but our song, turned to grace. To master the burning heart, and the stilled mind, we can change to any combat. We can burn our enemies to cinders from fury, or we can inflame our minds with hope and courage. Sunsingers, immersed with this light, learn to break the laws of decay and binding. That they may destroy the limits of fear and death can become an oath to the purest strength; renewal. The storm of Arc light is something of an immersion of our own will to that of pure energy. It's a delicate touch with a strong influence. To control something that has never had a master. They learn to become a lawless power that can be wielded as a weapon. A vicious, fast, predator of lesser wills. And it is something that everything else is bound to serve unwillingly, or unknowingly, lest they be turned to ash and forgotten. Stormcallers, immersed with this light, learn to break the laws of entropy and chaos. That they may become detached from mortal change and true masters of their will, and the lives of their enemies. -- Not that you have to take my word on any of this. It was fun none the less.

3 RepliesWarlocks let the various elements of Light flow through them, channeling them in their purest form because they do nothing but act like a conduit for its power. It's why nova bomb for example, travels up through the warlock to the arm, then gets pushed out. Hunters harness the Light, manipulating it and changing it to fit their whim, such as forming into a gun, bow and arrow, or focused into their knife and then used to make a second. Its why, out of the three classes, hunters are the best at manipulating the properties of light, just look at the Voidwall grenade as an example. Titans wield it. Using the Light like a force. Their duty and want to protect the Last City and the Traveler is manifested. They let the Light out in a one stop show of absolute power; a protective dome to guard those who need it; an explosion of arc Light to strike down those who get too close; or the strength needed to forge onward, beyond the walls and reclaim land for humanity. This is what the supers are, Guardian.

I like this post alot, I never honestly gave it much thought, we need more posts like these instead of "nerf this" and "buff that" it's refreshing so thank you.

25 RepliesNicely put! I always thought of combining supers... let's say a Stormcaller and a Nightstalker, warlock transfers lighting energy to hunter, or to his bow... Nightstalker launches a void/arc bolt that tethers and electrocutes all enemies. Just a thought (more like a dream haha)

I have a sort of idea for some new sub-subclasses starting with edition: HUNTER! Voidedgun - you summon a made of void that has 5 shots. Each shot fired spawns a black hole, immediately sucking all enemies in and damaging them for a total of 50% health(5% against ultras) hitting an enemy automatically does 25% health, and makes them the black hole (hitting bosses does 2.5% health).Shooting more times at a currently existing black hole increases suction by 20% of maximum. Damage does not stack when shooting the same enemy, but 5 different black holes does 50% damage to 25% to 12% to 6% to 3% when 5 black holes are all damaging one enemy. Voided gun lasts for a total of 18 seconds before dissipating Fireblade - gain 8 radiant throwing knives, all dealing immense damage to a target when hit. Each throwing knife can deal up to 75% of an enemy's health, and continues to burn it to death in pve and pvp, granted that it was hit with a headshot. When you throw a knife at a boss, it does 1.25% of an ultras health, and you can repeat for up to 10% ultras health, and when all knives are thrown, and they all hit, the solar flares they produce give the boss an 20% weakness to damage, causing players to deal 20% more damage to the selected target. - Solar flares - when a fireblade is thrown, each knife emits an aura on the target that, at a medium speed, burns it. When all of these are on a boss, they last for a total of 12 seconds, instead of the original 3. Fireblade lasts for 14 second before running out of solar energy. Finally, there is electricbow - shoot an electric current of arc energy, leaving an electric arc tripwire in its wake, can go through enemies. Super - gain an electric arc bow that leaches out and damages enemies that come near. You get 1 shot , and the tripwire lasts for a total of 8 seconds. The tripwire does 2,728 damage per quarter second in pve and 25 per quarter second in pvp. If the arc bow shot goes through an enemy I will immediately kill them( unless it is an ultra). This does NOT go through titan bubbles. The leech attack on it will reach and and electrify enemies within a 8 meter range (guessing guardians are 2 meters so 4 guardians long) when this super is used with voided gun, it can be the most powerful damage dealer is the game. Authors note - I typed this on MY PHONE while sitting in a car. Please cut some slack. I would like to hear your guys thoughta, and I will do a titan and warlock if you would like me to! Thanks guys, and I love the community!

2 RepliesSo Titans have one hammer that they infuse before throwing and it boomerangs back or is it simply a ton of hammers made of solar energy?
-
3 RepliesI didn't see the connection between hunters and titans before. I guess we have something in common now, their than that we're awesome.
-
Stormcaller channels the rage of people who get sniped by thunder strike That's why the supers so good because there's so much salty rage charging it

8 RepliesEdited by CovertMcgirt: 11/11/2016 2:22:10 AMI actually wouldn't mine changing the elements around on some supers. Imagine if Nightstalker was Arc. It would shoot a lightning arrow that chained electricity to nearby enemies causing paralysis. Of course due it the nature of electricity, would activate instantly!Think that would make more sense in it being able to shut abilities down. And Blade dancer would be Void. It would be great popping in and out of purple void clouds, teleporting like Night crawler from xmen. Would also play into the dark assassin theme as well.

4 RepliesYou ever see the cockroaches scatter when the lights go on? Lighting grenades are my super! Especially in control.
-
Funny topic, whenever I go into a strike with randoms, no one uses their super....ever.
-
1 ReplyIt would be great to know if the amaount of light is the same for every guardian or if there is some titans with bigger bubbles, voidwalkers with huge nova bombs or nightstalkers that can theter a field of enemies.
-
But still I see the solar supers channeled light threw hatred. Arc channeled threw smart planning aka intelligence. Then void channeled threw just being a nuisance cause all the wood supers are there to piss everyone off.
-
I'll be honest to why titans striker needs a nerf. I played banner got to rank five banner is still my stomping grounds but every time I had a super I never used it on just one person unless you pissed me off. But every time alot of dumbasses decide to cap a point I one run straight for them an lay them all out I felt dirty after I did it but was also laughing my ass of at the same time I won three different matches after doing that an the first one I was dropped into I'm surprised I didn't get hate mail.

Hunters and Warlocks use void as projectiles, Titans as a shield. Hunters and Titans use solar as projectiles, warlocks shield themselves. All classes use arc to throw themselves into the fray and do melee damage. Not really going anywhere with this observation, just find it interesting.
-
2 RepliesThe golden gun model is the same as last word which is what most people seem to think golden gun is
-
4 RepliesSo what your saying is... Nerf fusion rifles? Lol.
-
Void is about absorption of incoming energy/projectiles. Tether absorps light/other energy from tethered foes. Bubble absorps incoming damage NoVa Explodes and absorps life force/energy Arc channels lighning in its user and releash it through its user, kinda obvious I think Solar channels through weapons such as hammer and guns. Sunsinger is just anvexception
-
Warlocks seem to channel light through their hands. Nova bomb, Stormtrance and radiance will are all melee attacks. Sure you can use your grenades in radiance but melee (Scorch) becomes a 1hk.
-
Well written! Bump
-
1 ReplyI feel like the void subclasses come to form, solar subclasses enhance weapons and equipment and arc subclasses channel energy through the guardians.
-
Nothing to do with your post, but I feel as though void damage is actually cold damage. The only place your gonna find void is in the emptiness of space, which is freezing. Unless it falls more in line with gravity. Then void damage is more like physical harm as it would twist and pull you in different directions.

7 RepliesEdited by Olórin: 11/11/2016 2:04:26 PMHow I imagine what each different classes reactions are, when they're about to use their supers. Hunters activate their super: 'You're in for a world of hurt' Warlocks activate their super: 'Peace and harmony, but mostly death' Titans activate their super: 'Titan SMASH, Titan BREAK YOU'

1 ReplyIDK if it's just me or does it bother anyone else that some subclasses pull their super ability LITERALLY out of their ass?!?
-
5 RepliesIt would be interesting to extrapolate that thought into possible supers that alter the environment, other players etc. I'd like a super that sucks in surrounding damage and can do something interesting with it.
