I saw this brilliant idea and decided to get the word out
User Xero Aurion made the awesome suggestion of a first time offense cheater getting this punishment
Dishonorable Light Emblem
Emblem that cannot be switched to identify that we are playing with someone who has broken the rules before. This stops people being guilty by association as they could choose to leave their fireteam.
Its brilliant and lets players see who to avoid
Edit: this is how real justice is delivered

this will not be help the situation some people cheat just for the luls, and an emblem is like rewarding them for such acts, such as the traffic cone head idea in gta V there was griefing regardless
-
23 RepliesPublicly shaming people is NEVER a "brilliant Idea". Punish the act....not the person. If the act is truly unforgiveable....then permanently ban them from the game. If it isn't....then whether someone cheated in the past is none of your business, unless they're back to doing it again.
-
Do what other companies do. Put all cheaters and hackers in lobbies together. Problem solved.
-
brilliance!
-
"Give cheaters an unremovable emblem" Bungie, it should be clear to you that the Community wants and needs proof that you are taking action....
-
Lol that'd be funny!
-
This!!!

That's shaming and Bungie can't figure out what's going exactly due to this game have no dedicated servers. They can't 100% identify lag from lag switching or disconnection from DDoS ect... Dedicated servers and constant monitoring is required but we all know that 90% of Bungie's staff are working on D2 ((Activision report)) so it safe to say D1 will get minimum maintenance (look at the bad connection across PVP lately net code still bad)). Banning/restricting is the only solution currently. But more things from Bungie's side should be done first. -sending an e-mail and PSN/XBL msg about when, why and how long the restrictions is. -first time offender will serve his/her time unless it's a DDoS attack (cus it's a crime in many countries) -repeated offenders (2nd time) time get banned unless they apologize to the community through B.net with a linked account and have to wear an emblem (your idea OP) that Bungie will send to the offender for 2-8 weeks. Removing it will re-set the timer (It's not naming and shaming if you do it yourself). -3 times an e-mail will be sent to you telling you that you are banned. (Cyber attacks are immediately jump to this phase) This way Bungie is more communicative and they are not breaking there rules.

1 ReplyI disagree. It could be seen as an achievement or a feat. I think cheaters should be punished differently. They should get no rewards for anything and be temporarily banned from the tower, felwinters peak and the lighthouse and get a message when they try to access them from orbit telling them so. "The speaker/Osiris/Saladin has banned you for bad behaviour" or something like that. After a month or so of good behaviour the ban gets lifted. After one repeat offence, same ban as above for longer but their vault gets wiped.
-
They should have a dunce hat and it low there light to 100 lol
-
A bad sport lobby
-
2 RepliesWould be used as a sign of pride. Highly don't recommend.
-
1 ReplyWhen someone gets banned it should happen in the tower. Atheon appears and Titan smashes him into orbit. Bye bye.
-
1 ReplyBest way is to just make cheaters always play with other cheaters like other games do.
-
1 ReplyMake them Forever 39.
-
1 ReplyRestart the Guardian who cheated. Hunter, warlock or titan. They'll wonder why they lost their progress. That might be effective..
-
Or do like what they did in GTA V and have them run around with dunce caps for awhile.
-
I totally agree with you. But the emblem should stay for 3 months. People want redemption as well
-
Best way to avoid cheaters is to ban them
-
100% merit for all of the Original Post, as much for guilt by association as the original cheats. Bungie - Get rid of the cheats and your player numbers will INCREASE.
-
No justice is being delivered cause they are not asking PlayStation to console ban these guys so that their playstation become useless Peices of junk.
-
1 ReplyI liked #5 from the video, where cheaters have to play with cheaters :)
-
6 RepliesI love it! Any Idea what the design of it should be?

1 ReplyEdited by Adam the Hand: 11/4/2016 6:08:28 AMIf cheaters get caught their consoles should be bricked per the terms of online use. Forget asking Bungie to make something else. They're better at taking things away than anything else. Just ask them to do what they're good at; they don't even have to in this instance. Report those suckers, Bungie forwards the info to PSN or XBONE and whomever the cheaters are have a fancy new gigantic coaster in their entertainment system.

Edited by Durandal: 11/4/2016 7:28:19 AMSo, hey. Xbox one users, go read this topic from the help section, and then get on your Xbox and do the right thing. NOT naming and shaming, since the person self-outed through stupidity.
