If you don't mind paying rediculous taxes Illinois isn't too bad. It's actually a nice state. Only place you can't go is south side of Chicago. Don't follow our politics though. We make Donald Trump and Hillary look like saints. It's pretty bad.

12 RepliesObjectively California. It's big enough that if you want major metro areas, or small rural towns, you're covered. You can go surfing, to Disneyland, and snowboarding all in the same day. It's tough to beat the weather in Southern California. SF Bay area has some of the biggest tech companies. Tahoe, Yosemite, redwood forests, etc, are all beautiful.
