Can we take a moment to realize how oryx was constantly beating up Crota
Really though, more than a few Court of Orxy boss grimoire reference Oryx "Rebuking" Crota , grabs him by the horns and throws him into a vet gate and then states it would be inconvenient if Crota died because Oryx would become less powerful as a result, and you think you have daddy problems

That's how the Sword Logic works. You're only powerful if you can kill everyone else, and the more you kill the sharper your sword becomes. If your sword isn't sharp enough, you die. Oryx threw Crota into hard situations out of intense love for him, not the other way around.
