Light level drop on exotics
My caracter is 392 and the last 5 exotic engrams droped at 391.. what is the deal? My lowest light item is 390. The highest level on exotic drop was 393. Not exotic engram. But from rare or legendary.

Drop to 398 that worked for ttk It should work here I went from 398 to 400 drops and got 400

Welcome to destiny. Don't worry when you get to 400 they will drop at 399. This was in place from last year when at 335 you would get 334 drops and exotics. It's a grind mechanic that was confirmed by Bungie to be correct.

5?...I went through 400 three of coins and at least 40-50 engrams to raise my light level. 5 engrams decrypting at or below your light level is just bad luck, not a problem in the game. I was able to use exotic engrams to get to 400. So it's possible.

Simple as this peeps, they want everyone to be forced into hard raid! Absolutely working as intended, morally wrong, but working ass intended!

Edited by Leg3nd_1312: 11/1/2016 7:54:18 PMWhen you get an exotic at 391, infuse into another item and it will then turn the other item to 392. If you don't believe me, ask around. Don't keep the 391, you'll never progress.

Im 399 and my lowest light when i wear my max light is 399 but i hardly get 400

Same here. I am hardly getting any exotics dropping for me and when i do its either heavy or primary, plus I am 399 but any exotic i get drops at 399 instead of 400.

I do have a few tips for you to break through the ceiling that has been imposed on you. [b]On the Use of Three of Coins and Exotic Engrams[/b] Exotic engrams, unless are you are at one of the rare instances where it will decode higher than your lowest item, will usually only decode at your light level post level 390. This is something that many players, including myself, have experienced. There was a similar issue in the Taken King and just before the Light Level lift in Rise of Iron. My advice on this is to save your exotics as the cherry on top after you hit the highest possible light level of 400. Even then, they might pull the same trick as with the aforementioned instances where it will still drop lower. [b]On the Ways Around this Bug/Glitch[/b] The most efficient ways to get your guardian to the maximum 400 light level is to do the following endgame activities: [i]Archon's Forge[/i] - Drops up to Light Level 400 Ghosts, Class Items, Artifacts [i]Weekly Crucible Bounty[/i] - Drops up to Light Level 400 Weapons, Armor, Class Items [i]Wrath of the Machine (Hard Mode)[/i] - Drops up to Light Level 400 Weapons, Armor, Ghosts, Class Items, Artifacts Until Bungie makes an official post on the issue, I would follow these guidelines and be aware that the issue is prevalent. Knowing that they do in fact read mosts of the posts made on the forums, this is more than likely an issue they are aware of and just have no answer for it at this time. That's the problem, you have something under your light. The game will consistently screw you until you bring up that one item. Also exotic engrams don't seem to pop nearly as high as other end game rewards

2 RepliesIt appears to be intentional on Bungie's part. The problem I have with their decision to do this is they didn't give the players a heads up so they didn't WASTE their strange coins on 3OC purchases that are now useless for increasing light level.

Agreed! I am furiously trying to get above light 394 and can't seem to get an exotic to decrypt at anything higher than my current light. I feel your pain. Five in a row all decrypted to 394 after arduously farming exotics. Since exotics are one of the primary methods of increasing light at this level, they could at least go one or two levels up, but no. And BTW, can I get a helmet pls!!! no more heavies!...lol

I redeemed a heavy a couple hours ago. I couldn't do anything with it because of this problem. So I signed out. I just signed back in and that heavy is gone from my inventory. I've had the exact same issue... something seems broken when decrypting exotics. When 394 light, Out of 5 exotics only 2 dropped at 1 light higher than my current level. At 396 now and just decrypted 3 more and they all came out at my light level.

I actually had several drop at 391 when I WAS 391 but when I infused them into something else...they became 392. So yeah, the exotic drops are all kinds of wonky.

But from rare or legendary.[/quote] Same here past several drops are 391 or 390 on both my gardians that are both 393 this needs fixing because as of now 3 of coins are useless.
