Microtransaction are Great for Destiny! [Sarcasm Off]

Bungie needs to fix Festival of the Lost. And feels really like Bungie wants Destiny 1 to die a slow death.
This micro-transaction bullshit is outrageous. The worst thing I seen you guys do. And you have done some Basic shit in the past.
There should be other ways to get the Treasure stuff, not just buying the Treasure boxes. Even in Warframe, you can get mostly everything you want using in-game, not purchasing. Bungie completely ignores other micro-transaction systems, and decided to bar people completely from getting stuff, other than 3 free chances per account.
The Treasure bags should drop Legendary masks from last year at least. They went too far, because now people that spend $$$ are getting Ghosts with high stat rolls from treasure boxes.
And what some are spending money on are these Ghosts, and they are damn rare and look freaking cute. You literally just went and made it so people with $$$ can buy a bunch of stuff to improve their stat rolls. This is not even the main issue with Festival of the Cost. The problem is lack of new content.
The entire event is locked behind the paywall or the cool stuff in it. At least with Crimson doubles, we got the ghost for free.
Even my name is BYF is saying it, and he is usually #1 Bungie defender.
Literally no content in this update other than something that feels like work.
The broom is cool, but you guys need to add more content. Not just reskin shit.
Same thing happened last year before Call of Duty came out. You are basically forcing people to stop playing when Activision releases their next game. Are you going to introduce SBBM back so that Crucible sucks too, or some other thing that lowers drop rates on loot to put the Nail in the Coffin that is Destiny?

Bottom line Bungie. If you are listening. I know you bury my posts since I spam a lot, and troll. But anyways I still have legitimate opinions. The bottom line is: you should add other ways to get Treasures you want, through grinding or doing Crucible.
Why not let masks drop as rewards from Crucible? Yea make it rare, but at least its a fair trade. At this point you cannot fix it, but at least drop Legendary masks for us.

But that's exactly how I feel with this Festival of the Lost Event. Almost the entire event is locked behind RNG Paywall. Why are you doing this Bungie?

I like it as i think alot of people dont actually buy the chance to get different stuff. and im hoping when Destiny 2 Comes all my micro transactions are not obsolete. Like you want your Fans to be happy, they spend money on stuff that gives them chances of getting stuff and just Maybe Bungie will have something like Well because you like got these things , Destiny 2 will not be a complete reset of all that money you spent in Destiny 1. If in destiny 1 all my micro transactions only had meanings in destiny 1, that means Destiny 2 will not be in my Console or PC. The chances of Bungie reading this and making all my micro transactions meaning full in destiny 2 is slim, but hey i love Star Craft series and now i hear no more Star Craft series . OMG. Same as Crash Bandicoot series where did you go?

That's already better than last year. Crimson shell was a gift because Bungie messed up the drops on ghosts, so they gave everyone that played one , not a free ghost because you have never payed for a ghost. You get three chances, beyond that if you really want the purely cosmetic crap you can buy it. The god roll dread explorer shell is available to EVERYONE.

Smart business by bungie. Cosmetic items. Target consumer = the must haves, collectors and snowflakes. People like spending money on stuff that is either rare or makes them look / feel different from the rest. Good luck to those people. Just remember, the chances of getting exactly what you want are small. RNG is king in this game.

The only way you're going to get rid of the microtransactions cancer is by letting one of the AAA game developers, preferably Activision, go well, truly, and entirely bankrupt. But since people aren't going to do that, the game industry is going to get more and more diluted until it dies or ends up getting government regulated. Personally, I feel that every game that contains microtransactions should be rated M and be done with it.

Festival of the cost sucks the only people that get the good shit are the ones who use mommy an daddy money to get it or waste a portion of there work check (instead of buying essentials or paying bills) to use for this microtransaction bullshit which is becomeing a cancer among many games. If you people don't kno already your watering more money on a game that will eventually die out cause your precious destiny 2 is finally being made not realizing it's going to be shit just like the first one. But still this year is stupid the first festival it was great a quest every day which gave way to getting the cool stuff that most people wanted this festival (bungie you must buy to be cool) (me screw you you piece of rat shit scrubs who wasted money). So to bungie Tuesday is comeing up not to late to patch the quests back in to fix this crap you obviously have to us.

Reality check... who ever was in charge for the micro transactions dropped the ball hard and high. They probably laughed in meetings setting up this festival package. Cool we got a shader data mined in year one. Cool we get a free broom that expires. Anything else fun is basically in a store that We need silver to buy with. That's fine. I get it bungie but why make us pay for dlc then release a fun festival that drives up to buy silver to pay for everything. I bought silver but next time I will wait for reviews. Nothing gives advantages purchased in the chests. Cool. How is all this fun again?

Just found out about the micro-transactions and my heart sank. Haven't been able to play all week because of work; finally got time today to grind out all of the gear, and I find out it's microtransactioned. What a let down; I can't do any more of this.

1 ReplyI agree completely, if I wanted to gamble I'd go to a casino, at least that way I have a chance of getting my money back. Bungie has essentially made gambling for children legal. Aside from that I hate the fact the they mask this "new content" with micro transactions, it isn't content at all it's just a pathetic cash grab that they labeled as a "free event", I was thoroughly disappointed with event in its entirety.

While I don't like the fact I can't get stuff by just playing I'm not going to cry about it. All these people spending money now will only be able to us it for the next year or so. They are all novelty items that have no effect in game what so ever.

1 ReplyIt personally doesn't bother me as its cosmetic. Yes, you can buy those engrams from shax, but they drop at 3 light. The closest thing to an in game advantage is the faction boosters, which the game gives you anyway.

As a 2nd week player, and a Bungie fan from the 90s, Bungie has eroded my love for this game over the last year and now with FotL I am done until D2. I'll still pay attention to what's happening with D1 and that will ultimately help me decide if I want to bother with D2. Ball is in your court Bungie. Your move.
