Now the strike is totally doable and is NOT impossible and personally I really like it. With that said, the boss fight is so poorly executed it sort of ruins the experience.
Whoever thought making the ogre invincible should never be allowed to make a strike again. Demote them to coffee runs please.
There is absolutely NO reason why this ogre should invincible. As it stands, the Ogre is the toughest boss in Destiny period. How can a stupid strike side boss be stronger (ie cannot die) than a Hive God King or SIVA infused archon prime or the times conflux Atheon??? Honestly why didn't the Hive just make that ogre their king and take over the universe that way. It makes no sense. I understand that killing the ogre would trivialize the encounter but its just a broken mess as it stands now. If there is any sort of burn, the boss fight becomes tedious and anti-fun. Arc burn? The billion shanks will melt you. Solar burn? The dregs and vandals. Void burn? Omg are you kidding me with that boss gun? It takes negative seconds to kill you. Burns should be a new layer but not a "-blam!- YOU" to the players. Especially with 3 randoms in a simple heroic strike.
Here are my suggestions:
Give the Ogre a massive health pool. Something like Golgoroth (but without the DPS orb mechanic).
Put an aggro spot on the back of the ogre (or better yet, where his eye used to be) so theres no more random aggro like it is now. This will promote better team work.
Give the player a mechanic to "stun" the ogre with SIVA bombs maybe limit this to 3 times. Because the stupid thing runs faster than you at a certain point. Because being chased by him around cover while also being shot at by adds and the boss just isn't fun.
If players decide to burn the ogre and kill him (or... her?) give the splicer priest an enrage mechanic to offset there being no more ogre. Maybe SIVA mites that heal him after not being damaged after "x" amount of seconds. Or a secondary attack of some kind like Rockets Mcdickface. Or just more armor / HP if you Bungos are really lazy.
Edit: reading comprehension MOTHER-blam!-ER!... Do you have it?
Edit: I dare you to tell me how to do this fight one more time, I swear tell me ONE MORE MOTHER-blam!-ING TIME!

I got this strike when I was doing the Heroic strike with a mask... 3 guardians in the 350 ranges, I was the only one who was that low because of a mask, my teammates were legit 350s. I pretty much soloed it. That was hell.
-
I quit every time, that strike can suck my balls. Badly designed, terrible boss fight with no cover and obnoxious attacks.
-
1 ReplyBro, the point of the fight is that the ogre is invincible. It's an environmental hazard on legs. It makes the fight unique. Quit whining.
-
2 RepliesI'm just here so I don't get fined.
-
2 RepliesThey must of nerfed the strike! Did they? I just thought it was easier this week because it wasn't void. Void burn was impossible. Solar is my strong point and this week I managed to do it with no wipes. I haven't tried arc yet but personally arc warlock sucks. Don't really understand the strike story line. Don't see the point of infusing Siva with an ogre that is already invincible. A stagger mechanism for the orge would be good.
-
I don't even like the strike and I avoid it if possible, but I agree with you that ogre is bullshit.
-
This strike is a mess. It's not worth doing. It's not fun. It's poorly designed. Basically, it isn't up to Bungies normal standards. It would fit perfectly in The Division, but it doesn't belong in Destiny. So, this is what I usually see on the bottom of my screen when I get this strike:
"Guardian Departed. Guardian Departed." Then I pull out my Ghost, and depart. Soon, I will be the first one departing this piece of junk strike. It's worthless.
2 RepliesEveryone skips this strike anyway so it doesn't matter

3 RepliesShow me your wretched eye!!!!!
sphincter that is
Baby cry to mother bungie. Mother bungie give baby bottle. No more cry baby

Hmm this may be the most absurd theory i thought of, but what if despite the eye being ripped out, the ogre can still see through it somehow and since kovik is constantly looking at us, it chases us. Then maybe when close enough it can smell us as well.
-
How about you kill an Ogre and after tons of dps before killing priest he disappears and invites you to do the raid and you kill him there, but then again it sounds like Regicide. So maybe we stick with the current story where priest moves dead body against you and you somehow manage to kill him.

Kovik is the biggest scumbag ever.

1 ReplyAhhh. Nice to see idiots still using "Rockets McDickface" as a thing. You sir, are dumb as shit. Congrats
-
1 Replywhat's the point of being on a text based forum if most of you aren't even going to read what OP posted?
-
I just want to have to fight the ogre after kovik goes down.
-
I started reading this, thought you were talking about phogoth, and was very confused.
-
2 RepliesUse Universal Remote. No reason, really, but it'd be fun to see someone beat that boss only using UR.
-
So nerf hunters?
-
So nerf fusion rifles
-
I've done this with Void and Arc burn. I'm not a good player by any means and it wasn't that bad.
-
Totally agree, I hate this boss fight so much.... Invincible ogre, boss that can one shot you (sometimes), boss that can teleport right next to you, shanks raining down from the sky in all directions and no decent cover anywhere makes for a horrible horrible experience. One or two of these ball aches needs to be looked at.

How many Raze Lighter uppercuts does it take to get to the center of an Ogre ? Let's find out.....1.......2........3.......

1 ReplyThat strike is a ass. What's with all the new strike boss encounters being in an open room with little to zero cover and very little diversity in play style? They've all been boring with frustrating mechanics.
-
Here I just stand on the ogres head that's not a head and let the team take the boss while I teach them how titans can fly.
