What's a sniper?
I hate it how Bungie changes 2 things on snipers ( OP flinch,which honestly isn't that bad,and the damage reduction to the 1000 Yard,Longbow,LDR etc..) and it makes people just use shotguns! Like really? Don't get me wrong I don't mind getting shotgunned from time to time,but only getting rushed by a shotgun every 2 seconds get kind of annoying.
I don't know what Bungie should do about snipers,maybe change them back to how they were in year 1 or 2?
Just my opinion though. (I don't mind if you hate on me,just don't think of getting a response from me)

It's shotgun abusers like that who ruin Pvp with their cheesy shotty melee combos left to right, and to top that off they also like to toss a sticky nade that doesn't even need skill to aim because it automatically tracks you.

3 RepliesThe problem here is quantity. It has reached the point where PvP is like GoW horde mode. You'll have shotgunner after shotgunner just thowing themselves at you. And at one point or another you'll die. Not because they were better players but because there were simply too many of them. We never had that problem with snipers because only a minority could actually CQB snipe - whereas everyone can point a big shotty reticule at someone and press fire. Like 95 % of all maps are made up by CQB so if you stand around in the middle of those remaining 5 % and get sniped it's totally on you. It's avoidable.

As a sniper primarily I agree with the flinching. If I'm getting shot in the face 9/10 I shouldn't still hit the headshot (please leave my no land alone though like I'm putting myself at a disadvantage using it it's gotta have something lol) but the whole ads and red light and all that is fine. Snipers not bodyshot killing is fine. It's a super oriented game shouldn't have to follow all common rules of earthly sniping.

Played rift yesterday. Hardscope guarded by a scout rifle shotgun user. Pretty tight teamwork. They crushed.

I think snipers are fine. Specially the flinching. There's no reason I'm three bullets deep into your head and you still get a headshot on me. Ive always thought barely any flinch was retarded af.

Ya know, run up to collect the dropped artifact. It helps to have a weapon made for CQC than a long gun. Regardless of that, seeing shotguns used more is such a refreshing change to pvp. It was getting rather stale with all the chumps and chodes camping out with their Mida/Sniper or Pulse/Sniper combo. Also, shotguns have been ground into the dirt over the last few "adjustments". If you're crying about shotguns now, it's you not the gun.

Edited by CaptainW1nky: 10/21/2016 6:28:45 PMI used mine and a handcannon a few days ago. I rarely snipe even though it says my best weapon is a sniper and suck with hand cannons. Did fairly decent with a 2.8 k/d in clash. Ripped a bunch of heads off with the old longbow. The flinch was a bit rough but as long as i disengaged and outplayed the guy i was trying to snipe i would get the kill with my sniper. Just takes a bit of skill now a days. Standing there hardscoped tanking rounds is a thing of the past that doesn't work and it shouldn't.

You guys act like shotguns are all that bad. If I could handle them back when they were in their prime you scrubs can handle them now. How about instead of rushing forward you stay back and punish them with range?
