With the release of Hard Mode Wrath of the Machine, all weapons are now available to use.Two years and four Raids later we have gotten our fair share of some beastly weapons! Of all the Raid weapons in the game, I think it is fair to say that the weapons mentioned below are the best weapons of their class regardless of relevancy.
Raid Exotic: Vex Mythoclast (VoG)
Scout Rifle: Vision of Confluence (VoG)
Pulse Rifle: Steel Medulla (WotM)
Handcannon: Fatebringer (VoG)
Auto Rifle: Abyss Defiant (CE)
Sniper: Black Hammer (CE)
Fusion Rifle: Praetorian Foil (VoG)
Shotgun: Found Verdict (VoG)
Rocket Launcher: Hunger of Crota (CE)
Machine Gun: Quillum's Terminus (KF)
Sidearm: N/A (only one)
Sword: N/A (none)
Relic: Ascendant Sword (CE)
Do you agree? Comment below!
EDIT: Out of all weapons mentioned above, the Shotgun was the toughest choice, as Quantiplasm is just a fantastic Shotgun and fun to use! Scouts were also a tough choice as both Fang and Chaos Dogma are also top tier Scouts. Vision seemed so much more useful with Full Auto when you wanted to be lazy, combined well with Zen Moment, had the some great sights and covered 2/4 forever present elemental shields at the time (Wizards and Centurions). The rest were pretty much clear cut winners in my opinion!
EDIT 2: Is Genesis Chain really that good? I thought it was just the Small Arms modifier blinding my judgement as it has been active in Heroics every week since the Raid launched. I haven't tried it in PvP on the basis of High Impact ARs being the worst weapon archetypes in the game currently. In all my Raid runs with groups from LFG I have rarely seen other's use it... Better try it again may have missed something. After Abyss Defiant, Anguish is trash and Epilogue was never really great in PvE like most HRoF AR's.
As for Corrective Measure, I was never fond of low impact Machine Guns and assumed the community was not either as you rarely see anyone use them, may it be Patrol, Strikes, Nightfall, Raids or PvP. Quillum's seemed a more logical choice as it was basically the only MG used in PvP in Year Two. Cocoon negated MG's awful reload speeds in PvE allowing to continue DPS rather than lose DPS through reloading by switching/stowing. Still not saying Corrective Measure was bad though, I did use it quite often.

Genesis Chain is incredible, my favourite weapon in D1. It looks and sounds incredible, does a good amount of damage in comparison to all of the other primary weapon types, and the 2 perks together are insanely good. No other Legendary Auto Rifle comes close to it in PvE, and only Zhalo and the buffed version of Necrochasm are as good or better across the whole game IMO

2 RepliesWith the release of Hard Mode Wrath of the Machine, all weapons are now available to use.Two years and four Raids later we have gotten our fair share of some beastly weapons! Of all the Raid weapons in the game, I think it is fair to say that the weapons mentioned below are the best weapons of their class regardless of relevancy. So I assume you mean Raid only at this point, to clarify do you mean at their best performance point ever or general utility inside their raid? In PvP and PvE or PvE activities besides raids? Raid Exotic: Vex Mythoclast (VoG) In its time yes, absolutely. After accidental and deliberate nerfs, debatable. Inside its own raid, nah, excluding Nechrocasm because it took too long to be buffed into remotely efficient and effective status in its own raid much less anything else, the other two ultimately perform better in their own raid. Scout Rifle: Vision of Confluence (VoG) Yes, light level is the only deterrent to this gun. Bungie broke the mold with this one. Pulse Rifle: Steel Medulla (WotM) Excluding exotics, debatable, within its own raid yes, outside of Raids...nah. Just have to stick with year 1 Raid Pulses. Even at a time when Pulses were not considered a good class, between the Elemental Burn and quality of the guns they were quite serviceable Handcannon: Fatebringer (VoG) Honestly, it was pretty decent for a lot of things, jury's still out on the newest one in terms of its own raid. It's definitely a contest between the first and last raid handcannons either way. If you only compared them in pvp terms right now the newer one would win because of the global Band-Aid Ghost Bullet nerf, if at its peak Fatebringer might edge it out. Auto Rifle: Abyss Defiant (CE) I'd say close call between this and the current one in terms of their own raids but probably give it to this one. Now if you swapped them the other would be much more useful in CE than Abyss would be in WM, light level notwithstanding. PvPwise I'd give it to Abyss it wasn't utterly terrible at a time when most autorifles were. The rest, aye. Sniper: Black Hammer (CE) In their own raids, hands down. That said Praedyth's Revenge is in my top 3 favourite Destiny snipers, though mainly for pvp-Blackhammer isn't. Still it's hard to go wrong with the prototype of the Black Spindle. I actually quite enjoy the current raid sniper and liked the Oryx one as well about equally in general practice but they damn near pulled a VoC here. Fusion Rifle: Praetorian Foil (VoG) Honestly a lifesaver at oracles, but they've all been fairly decent, metabalance issues aside. This one probably takes it just due to how it melted oracles, don't think any of the rest have quite had the pivotal impact on raid encounters that it has. Shotgun: Found Verdict (VoG) Hard call. For its own raid this and the most recent one are pretty close, outside it I really enjoyed the CE shotgun for decimating minotaurs, pvp wise I don't care for shotguns period. Rocket Launcher: Hunger of Crota (CE) The most recent two very underwhelming, the first two tied for me. I like the CE and VoG rockets equally. Gally this Gally that, but for anyone who didn't get it off the bat either of these did work. Machine Gun: Quillum's Terminus (KF) I will only say this: I miss Jolder's Hammer and the un-nerfed Fieldscout. This gun was the closest thing to it, and in terms of own raid potential tied with the VoG machine gun. The CE was whelming. The newest one is a satisying legendary version of SGA, but the steady pace of the heavy hitter archetype just feels so much more cathartic. If you can get a nice target lined up though, the newest one may be a surprisingly fun melting cannon. Sidearm: N/A (only one) alas Sword: N/A (none) alas Relic: Ascendant Sword (CE) Disagree, there's really no qualification here other than VoG broke the mold when they made it in a lot of ways and the Relic is one of the best examples. Gloryhounds may love smacking a giant alien in the shin with a sword, but the embodiment of being a Guardian; shielding your allies, saving them from Darkness, blasting down the guards of terrible foes and smashing hordes of alien cyborgs with this Aegis of Light. That was what being a Guardian was all about. Distracting Oryx and stealing his daughters' spells, sure that's good for a laugh. Shock Cannons and Siva Bombs, eh, at least most everyone gets a chance to chuck or shoot one. But the Aegis, that is one Relic Bungie will have a hard time topping. Anywho that's my opinion so like cheers.

(PVE only) Exotic: necrocasm (CE) Hand cannon: Zaouli's Bane (KF) Scout: Doom of Chelchis (KF) Auto rifle: Anguish of Drystan (KF) Pulse rifle: predethys timepiece (VOG) Sniper rifle: predethys revenge (VOG) Shotgun: Sword breaker (CE) Fusion rifle: midha's reckoning (KF) Machine gun: Song of Ir Yût (CE) Rocket launcher: Kings fall rocket launcher (forgot what it's called) (I changed the rocket launcher)

Genesis chain is way better than abyss defiant.
-
Love my Defiance of Yasmin
-
Atheon epilogue. And Kabr's shield relic was the bomb diggity of all relics.
-
Wait a second I just realized corrective measure isn't on here...YEAR 2 PLAYER SPOTTED
-
You lost all credibility when you put abyss defiant above genesis chain AND epilogue.
-
would argue vog relic is good as well as pulse
-
5 RepliesSmite of merain was and is the only pulse to have firefly, steel medula has special secret round :/
-
Scout I have to give to the Dogma, the dps is slightly ridiculous
-
1 ReplyI would recommend trying Genesis chain again. It is great in both PvP and PvE! Definitely the best raid AR.
-
2 RepliesCorrective Measure is the only correct answer for raid machine guns.
-
9 RepliesRelic: VoG Relic Hand Cannon: Fatebringer Pulse Rifle: Smite of Merain Scout Rifle: VoC closely followed by Fang of Ir Yût Auto: Genesis Chain Sniper: Black Hammer closely followed by Praedyth's Revenge Shotgun: Found Verdict Fusion: Praetorian Foil(You Ain't Never Gonna Get It) Machine Gun: The original Corrective Measure Rocket: Hunger of Crota Exotic: Necrochasm because Nechrochasm is, always has been, and always will be bae

Best relic, the sword? Nah bro it's all about the shield. Personal shower and a super weapon. Raid Exotic? Pre-nerf Mythoclast, if current, Outbreak Prime I think Atheon's Epilogue is the best Auto Rifle, that or Genesis Chain, I wreck with it. -blam!- yeah Vision of Confluence. Don't have Steel Medulla but I heard it's really good Fatebringer FTW Pre-nerf Black Hammer, yes Praetorian Foil, yes I agree, Found Verdict is the best IMO Hunger of Crota? Yep Qullim's Terminus, the best weapon to come out of KF
-
VoG relic was much better IMO. Good gameplay overall whereas the sword was only here to hit Crota
-
1 ReplyThe Ascendant Sword is more powerful I guess, but the Shield was more fun to use
-
Vog and rotm are the best raids. Crota was and still is the easiest raid i have ever done. Kings fall is just a conclusion to tdb. Its to complicated and too puzzle orientated. In general its just not a fun raid. Warpriest, kill ads, wait for random totems, bubble for dps, kill ads to keep bubble, boring. Same goes for rest of raid Rotm is kinda puzzle based cuz of OP quest but then again not rlly cuz its all baisic raid mechanics. Vosik: kill ads, weaken sheild, watch monitors, easy. Same goes for rest of bosses. Vog is all time best cuz of #1 first raid so no one had any idea what a raid even was. #2 great boss encounters. #3 more story based. Vex are more linked cuz of the black guarden and all. #4 all weapons on the raid at one point were amazing. Vog wins best raid imo
-
Outside of sniper (black hammer) I would say you can argue for every category best weapon being from VoG
-
2 RepliesBest Raid : Auto : Genesis Chain Pulse : Oversould Edict Scout : Vision of Confluence Handcannon : Fatebringer Shotgun : Quantiplasm Sniper : Black Hammer Fusion : Foil HMG : Quillim's Terminus Rocker Launcher : Hezen Vengeance Exotic : Vex Mythoclast Titan armor : King's Fall or VoG Hunter armor : VoG or Wrath Warlock armor : VoG Door opener : Crota's End First boss : Vault of Glass Travel encounter : Wrath Final boss : Wrath Overall favorite raid : Wrath Overall favorite armor : VoG Overall favorite weapons : Tie - Vog and Wrath.

3 RepliesThe vog weapons. No contest. If you say otherwise you're dumb.

Your list is spot on. Great read.
