Once the patch drops what's going to be the quickest and most efficient way to get to 400, there's a couple of options. Let me know which is best:
1.
- open all saved faction rewards
- Open all exotic engrams
- Nightfall
- Raid
2.
- Nightfall
- Raid
- Faction packages
- Engrams
3.
- Raid
- Faction packages
- Nightfall
- Engrams
I will start off on my least fav guardian, then once done on one character, transfer all of the highest gear to my next and repeat ending on my fav character.
Should get me near 400 hopefully as 386-387 on all 3 characters.
What's the best option 1,2 or 3?
Edit: from the comments below highlighting about archon forge now dropping 400, I will start with this with option 4 below:
4.
- Archon forge
- Nightfall
- Raid
- Faction packages (can anyone confirm if going to be higher than 385?)
- Engrams on last character (warlock, ready for trials Friday)

2 Replies5. - Go back and read the Weekly Update to see that the increase is not coming with the initial release of the patch, but when Heroic mode goes live

On October 18th, corresponding with the release of Heroic Mode for Wrath of the Machine, your Maximum Light will be increased to 400. With this increase, many reward sources will also increase their maximum Light. Strike Hoards, Nightfall, Exotic Engrams, Trials of Osiris, Crucible, and Iron Banner will now provide rewards up to 400 Light. Archon’s Forge, the Heroic SIVA Strike playlist, and Legendary Engrams will now provide rewards up to 385 Light. Rare Engrams and the SIVA Strike Playlist will now provide rewards up to 365 Light. The recommended Light for these activities will remain the same with the exception of Nightfall, which will be increased to a recommended light of 380. For those striving to reach Heroic Wrath of the Machine or even attempt their first run at Normal Wrath of the Machine, players should find more paths and options available to them to reach the recommended Light.

- Realize that you just wasted a good number of rewards that could have potentially gotten you to 400. - Come to the forums and complain

4 RepliesIf Faction Packages are max 390, and exotics are max 400, wouldn't you want to, 1.) Faction Packages 2.) Exotics 3.) Nightfall 4.) Archons Forge 5.) Raid If you open your exotics and are able to hit 390, then your faction packages will be a light level waste.

3 RepliesMy method is this. Go to highest light character Open exotics on the lowest light gun or gear until the ghost and artifact is lowest. Then open factions and Eris for ghosts and artifacts. Forge Nightfall When all is even pick armor rather than guns. Since guns can transfer. it's better to have extra armor to trade to other characters

2 Replies•All changes to increase Light above 385 will take effect upon the release of Heroic Mode for Wrath of the Machine Wait until you turn in all you packages/engrams! That’s just a preview of what you’ll find in 2.4.1. Deployment begins at approximately 10AM Pacific on Tuesday, October 18th. To ensure that all World-First-hopeful Fireteams have time to download the update, Heroic Mode for Wrath of the Machine will begin at 2PM Pacific on Tuesday, October 18th.

You forgot wait 3 hours
-
Light level doesn't change until HM Raid drops

bungie is very good in trolling

I'll use one character and get to 400 quicker than most same way I used one character to get to 386 in a few days

6 RepliesUse this instead. Copy pasted from my thread. So say you have all 385 except boots chest that are 387 and all weapons 386. 1. Use helmet and gloves engram 2. Open a eris package for a artifact 3. Use 2-3 weapon packages 4. Use any exotic weapon engrams that you didn't get upgrades from packages 5. Use 2-3 armor packages 6. Use any exotic armor engrams that you didn't get upgrades from 7. Rinse and repeat 8. If you got loads stacked up and manage to hit 390 do nightfall and hope or a ghost after this do archon forge in the hope for a ghost there as well 😀 Hopefully you will be getting a classic site from one of the faction packages as well 😀

2 RepliesHas that update happened yet? Tried a blue and its still coming out at 340
-
3 RepliesYou can now buy an item know as "silver ether" from Eververse for 2000 silver to instantly bring a character to 400 light.
-
7 RepliesArchons forge before everything! Drops ghosts and class items up to 400!
-
This is not the most efficient use of packages and exotic engrams. Not by far
-
23 RepliesFaction Packages were not on the list of things that are getting a light boost, so not sure that will really help get past 385. I'd replace the "Faction Package" in all your lists with Archon's forge, so at least you can get 400 ghost or artifact

1 ReplyEdited by Orionz Destiny: 10/18/2016 2:13:07 PMEDIT: Choice 2 Raid drops and nightfalls are your biggest RNG, so do those first. Next, cash in your faction rank-ups as those can be somewhat manipulated (weapons vs armor). Choose whichever one gives you the highest chances of upgrades. Lastly, open engrams, always choosing the lowest light on you. You might end up even saving engrams for better odds later

I'd go with option #1
