The young wolf's howl is an incredible sword
Nice work on making this sword bungie, i never really liked the rest of the other swords until this one got my eye on it.
The exotic perk really eats those majors and ultras alive. And using it with memory of radegast artifact work's well.
Please bungie again i said PLEASE do not nerf this Sword. I like it even more than gjallahorn.
Update: maybe it could use a buff like what's everyone is saying. Like i said i never really cared for swords until Saladin honor me with the young wolf's howl. Good story too. And that's what made me get into swords

Saladbar didn't honor you with the howl, the fact that everyone gets handed an exotic for doing the story is kind of ridiculous, plus the gally and khovostov quests are ridiculous easy

Nope. It doesn't need a nerf because it's already shit. Carries less ammo than the other swords, uses up more ammo for its Exotic perk, and is weaker than even Bolt-Caster, which is the weakest of the 3 main Exotic Swords.

It is great for the weakest person in the fireteam. It powers up your stronger teammates more than your weak character could have done.

I like the idea of the sword but in killing raid captains, raze and apparently dd do a much better job

Raze lighter and dark drinker are both so much better.

it looks great, especially with the second ornament. had tons of fun using it too. but in terms of effectivity... raze lighter and dark drinker are so much better. i absolutly hate how the young wolfs howl pushes your enemy away and you have to chase him again. not to mention using 10 instead of 5... ammo? (also sending them flying because of the fire is very annoying) kinda stupid that they didnt gave the sword a new archtype. like higher defense than the other exotic swords or something. instead its just a weaker version.

Lowest damage sword with highest ammo cost, I don't thing they will ruin it since they already did.

It's should get demoted to a legendary status rather than exotic and use less ammo per hit.

3 RepliesIt's fun to use but currently unless your say debuff an enemy so your team can hit the boss with gjallorhorn or sleepers it's not great. I enjoy swords quite often, And tested it out quite a bit the results being. 1) the sword itself is already quite underwhelming in damage output as it only hit for about 75% of the damage of dark drinker which is also quite a bit weaker than raze lighter. 2)it's ammo economy sucks. It carries less than the other exotic swords even in exchange for less damage and uses twice the ammo for the R2 attack. 3) it's glitched (or at least I hope) where with memory of radegast young wolfs howl uses about 80% more ammo for any guarding than any other exotic sword. Also radegast only bumps YWH to a max capacity of 83 ammo while all others go to 103 ( or so I forget the exact number sorry just know it was a bit over 100). My conclusion being that while it's fun to use and adds a delightful supportish option for a heavy weapon it's overall ammo economy just makes it unbelievably bad in comparison to the others I believe it need some significant tweaks to make it more desirable. I'm also not saying don't use it by all means go ahead I do, this is just my analysis of its functionality that I figured might be helpful.

young wolfs howl is good for one thing, the shards, it can't compete with the real exotic swords in damage or looks, it should be legendary, but bungie wanted to give everyone a chance to wield an exotic sword so they gave one away, do yourself a favor and get a raze lighter or dark drinker, when you do you will never use the howl again
