Coolest Raid Boss Fight? (WEEKLY POLL)
[b]THIS IS PART OF A NEW WEEKLY SERIES OF POLLS![/b]
Every Saturday, I will make a "Coolest of Destiny" poll, to essentially try and raise morale and positivity within the community, as well as discover the community's favourite things about the game.
My personal pick for this starting week is THE TEMPLAR! I'll never forget my first relic run for that fight.
Throw in a suggestion for next week if you want! I've already got one planned but if an idea gets enough bumps I'll do it instead!
So unless this post gets completely overlooked, see you next week!

1 ReplyI just can't pick. I've got too many favorites. [b]Aksis[/b] [b]Atheon[/b] [b]Death Zamboni[/b] I actually wasn't gotten to by nostalgia but then I read the lore behind Time's Vengeance. It's so cool. Every Guardian from every time line is shooting through your gun just to overcome Atheon. Aksis had lots of action in his battle, and was just amazing in general. Death Zamboni is hype!

1 ReplyAs far as raids go VoG takes the cake. But never In either of the raids has there been a moment for me like yielding the sword against crota. The music that plays after Sword pick up is amazing, and there's nothing like seeing a a gjallarhorn bombardment.

Atheon was exactly the same. everyone just point and shoot while that one guy blocked with the relic. the mechanics of the raid were so simple. Edit: I just like the music on the siege engine, it reminds me of mad max

1 ReplyPeople only like Atheon because of it being the first main boss in a Raid. I'm saying my favorite is Aksis. The only raid boss where it you do not have to rely on one or two people to be able to move further on through the fight. I love the Wrath of the Machine raid because it revolves around the whole fireteam this time around but instead of having to form an A1 perfect team (like King's Fall) you can do it with any casual team.

Atheon I just think the mechanics in that fight were really cool, 3 players randomly getting sent into different dimensions having to retrieve the relic and fight their way out while on the other side the rest have to open the portal so they can get back and then jumping into the middle with one person protecting the rest of the team with the relic while they shoot the boss. The rest are good too though.

10 RepliesI had to pick Aksis. No other fight allows all 6 players to be so active and powerful. Very well done. And that music. Easily the best in the game so far.

For me it's between Atheon and Aksis. Templar is up there too. -blam!- Crota. And -blam!- Oryx. Two over hyped "god" fights. Crota loot was good but I was disappointed with the boss fight. With Oryx, they found a way to make a jumping puzzle a boss.

Atheon. Probably my fav. Not hating on Oryx or Aksis... but there is also something to be said for... "Ok take him down" ...... Sword.... whoosh whoosh whoosh.... Ok drop him again..... Woosh...Woosh.. Woosh. Speaking as a sword runner... it was quite awesome throwing that weight on your shuolders. :)

7 RepliesI think what everyone is missing when they say atheon is just nostalgia it the fact the mechanics for all fight have been relatively the same, take the thing and use it to start the damage faze, stand there to get so and so to start damage faze With atheon it's not the mechanic, it was how it was done, you get sent hurtling through time, were my evil is ...., sorry anyway you get sent through time and kill yadda yadda sure, but it's just so cool. Here you are in a great vault separated not by space but time, your fire team desperately holding a gateway open while you fight on the other side to save their lives All the while Larry the living ice sculpture is posing dramatically for effect while your there And even still your being surrounded by tamigachis programmed by Isis So to me it's not rose tinted glasses that make my vote go for atheon, it's simply the way the mechanics were given to us that make it so great for me

Always and forever Aetheon There was just so much going on Like if you really thought about it You're traveling through space and time that the vex invented to destroy you so as to instead destroy them While with Crota you're just using his sword against him Oryx is just in the head when we break into his bedroom And he responds accordingly by trying to blow us up and yet we find a way to utilize his realm to be briefly invincible but only to certain attacks Not even all of them Archon prime is a jumping spider

8 RepliesI can understand Aksis the music and the fight is so beautifully done its an amazing final boss but a lot of what they did feels very vault like, even down to damage phase names. Plus Atheons raid has an actual story behind it and every mechanic makes sense. What does Aksis have? He may or may not be controlled by Siva and we needed a big bad so go kill him. Also as said earlier it borrows a lot from vault in presentation. Siva may empower guardians but it will always be known... Guardians make there own fate

Atheon. That was an epic battle. Nothing will ever come close to the first time going through the Vault of Glass. And seeing the Vex Mythoclast drop on the side of the screen as Atheon melted away... that was satisfying.
