I have a story for you. Not a long one, a pretty short and simple one. As a 381 with outbreak prime, I've convinced myself that you NEED to be 365 to defeat Aksis.
Earlier today, I started a raid group, consisting of 4 hunters, and two titans. One hunter was a 351. I told myself that we'll take him up to aksis, and due to his low light he'll have to leave then. Instead, he kinda grew on me and I decided to keep him until he got frustrated and left.
That isn't what happened. Out of our makeshift raid, half of us were getting our first completion. We killed aksis in less than 5 wipes. Our damage was stellar, and our coordination was both social and professional. We beat aksis with a 356 in our team.
As an edit; There's too many people misinterpreting my point. I'm not saying : "Fuck you people asking for 370 and up! You can't have expectations." I'm telling you a story, where we did the entire raid within 3 hours, with a run down team of high 360s with a 350 teammate. M point is; You can still have a fun and quick raid even if you have some low levels.
As a final edit: It's been a ride. This has gotten much more popular than I'd thought, and theres so many people discussing. From support and congratulations to hate and criticism, we've had quite the number of ideas and points said. I understand that people have time constraints, and I guess 3 hours is suddenly a long completion time.
(Final edit pt 2) Last time I completed the raid was in 5 hours and that was quick to us. The raid is a hardcore endgame that I set aside always a few hours to do. The point of my post, however, is that you can still be speedy and effective without the highest of levels and cooperation/coordination will prove to be the much more valuable trait.

8 Replies386 Here and still having trouble trying to find a raid group since day one. My rng on a group is amazing. I think I should stick to pvp.
-
3 RepliesSane with trials. 350 and up is fine
-
2 Replies"Last time I completed the raid was in 5 hours and that was quick to us" See my friend that is why people ask for 375+ last raid run took the LFG group I had just under an hour purely due to our light and knowledge of the raid the dps was massive, which brings me to my next point, a lot of guardians like to get activities done fast even more so if you play 3 charecters and work long hours.
-
Touching story
-
I usually ask 375+
-
3 hours is more time then i have for the raid thats why i want higher light Also 370+ pretty much ensures u have at least an idea on how to complete
-
Asking for is not the same as demanding, in my lfg posts i say 370+ team preferred but of theres some low light i dont balk as long as they do whats needed

Edited by : ^ ): 10/9/2016 1:35:55 AMWait, what's wrong if someone wants to ask for minimum recommended light? Is that what we are down to. Yes, I've completed the raid multiple times with the group below 370, but that doesn't mean others HAVE to. After hitting max light on all characters ( when I switch my weapons ) I have found the raid is that much easier. Nothing wrong with people asking for the bare minimum recommended light.

Edited by iPeeWheniLaf: 10/9/2016 1:18:21 AMThe best way to find a raid group is through the100.io . The people who put up raid request on their put it up with a detailed explanation of what's expected. I'm not usually one that acts like most of the people on lfg.com and lfg.net. It's usually the trials request that are the most absurd but the raid ones can get out of hand sometimes. The problem is, like you said, the ppl that join and act like they're a god at the raid but die 1st everytime and also die at the most inconvenient times. Just last week, we had a guy join who already had the outbreak prime and was talking mad game about everything and he literally died 1st everytime, missed the cores while throwing the ball on 10+ times and just overall sucked. No one got mad but it was just frustrating. So this last Tuesday, I put up an LFG on 100.io and explained "Quick raid run. Must have completed the taid, know the mechanics and be 370+ LL. Don't want to sound like an asshole, but we have a lot of destiny to complete this week and we don't have time to sherpa anyone". Word for word that was the description. Got the team together and we beat the raid in 1 hour 10 mins. We could have probably beat it faster if we didn't stop for a few minutes after Vosik and stopped for a few minutes after siege engine. We also did the outbreak prime quest, which probably took a good 10 to 12 minutes to get everyone on board on how to do it. The next day, we got a group together that had 2 newbies to the raid that were 361 and 363. Beat the raid in 2 hours. It's a about competence and willingness to learn and not want to be in the raid for hours upon houra. It's pretty hard to find people with that sort of mindset, but when you do....its great.

Edited by sergantsnipes05: 10/9/2016 1:03:26 AMLook, a good player it doesn't really matter. The issue is most people are bad and can't stay alive from shanks even at 370+ I'm fine carrying a group every now and agaim but the assumption is that higher light levels should know the mechanics and be able to stay alive All the raids can be done in 45mins to a hour with competent players. Some of us don't have 5 hours to waste all the time

4 RepliesIn my experience, doing WotM over 15 times. People who are 380+ already know how to do the raid. It tends to go, early on they are higher levels, the more they tend to know. Some people don't want to teach others, they want to get in and out. ~TheGreatNike

2 RepliesIsn't the recommended light level 370? If the developer set a recommendation the players might think about listening to it.

I'm telling you a story, where we did the entire raid within 3 hours, with a run down team of high 360s with a 350 teammate. M point is; You can still have a fun and quick raid.
3 hours is quite a long time to be trying to do this raid.

11 RepliesIf you are anything less than 370 for the Raid, you are lazy. The game hands out 365 on a platter and getting 5 more light through exotics and rep packages is ridiculously easy. Asking for others to do the raid for you while you struggle to contribute to DPS is just plain rude.
-
22 RepliesThe raid is even recommended at 370, so if you are not 370 and get mad at the lfg requirements its your own fault.
-
It was pretty easy to carry my friend through, he was a part of our original VoG group then got burnt on destiny. When he came back he got up to 353 and he just hid the entire aksis fight. The rest of the team were between 375-385.
-
Well thats your choice so good job deciding that but for anyone who wants 370+ like I do thats good for them to because also a choice they made you made a invalid post people do what they want because they can I help levels all the time but when I want to get it done in 45 min not 3 hours I post for higher light
-
5 RepliesEdited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 10/8/2016 5:16:04 PMI pulled two 335's through the entire raid. They were in the 340's for Aksis and had little issue with some instruction. My thing is this: If you're 370+ and dying in the raid, you're trash and should quit the game. Hate to sound elitist, but you're the cause of 6 hr Aksis fights. Light level hides a lot in this game. Do the Nightfall at 350 sometime. https://youtu.be/GOL2BQ8DS-Q

Damn 3 hours... it's like a 30 minute raid
-
I beat the whole raid in 1h 50 min, light level 351 by the end 357
-
Nice story mate. Glad someone has shared one like this. Good work.

Edited by Ketogenic_Guardian: 10/8/2016 2:50:52 PMWell said Im glad you made this post Players are making ludicrous requirements When the raid is still new. Seems everyone forgot about the grind of vog and crota to get raid ready. Also its about the adventure and your story on the road of your guardian Everything is not about winning. Its about the road and the people you meet along the way. Congrats on your completion. Even high levels rage quit. I did the raid multiple times on different checkpoints everyone quits when it gets hard. I noticed low levels want the raid completion more
-
3 RepliesPotentially 4 teathers, I would hope you would do enough DPS to end the boss.
-
2 RepliesI killed aksis at 358. The highest light level in our team was 363.
-
2 Repliesim a 368 hunter who how really wants to do the raid except i haven't ever done it before so no groups want me. if there is someone experienced in the raid on PS4 who could help me run through it the first time that would be great
-
Its simple. It is not necessary to be high light, but theres a good chance youll have an easier time with more higher light in the team.
