First over-priced ornaments and now Saladin's engrams? This is infuriating. I missed out on Year 1 Iron Banner gear and now that I finally have the chance to get my hands on some I find out I can't unless I'm packing hoards of Silver Dust! Even if I had dismantled the super cool ornaments from weeks one and two I'd have just 18 and thats only if I'd dismantled this weeks as well.
Am I blind? Is there some alternate way to earn Silver Dust I just haven't been told about? Are Radiant Treasures giving out more Dust per package or have more drops been allotted per week? I just cannot comprehend how and why this is okay. I either sacrifice ornaments or shell out money for engrams that aren't even guarenteed to give me the exact armor piece I'm going after.
In all honesty, is it too much to ask that items earnable and/or purchasable in game be earned with relative ease and without the need to use real world money? Is it too much to ask that Xur sell his ornaments for strange coins? Is it too much to ask that Saladin sell his engrams for legendary marks or at least allow them to drop from Iron Banner matches? I say again, is it too much to ask?
Signed, once more, an irritated Gyaosblade.
EDIT: Apparently, armor obtainable from Dusty Iron engrams can indeed drop as a possible reward from Iron Banner matches. That said, the fact that you can bypass (to some extant) what I've experienced to be low drop rates in exchange for cash is still an issue.

Edited by ghostx78x: 10/8/2016 8:11:10 PMAs long as there are dumbass that will shell out $120 + on gambling boxes trying to collect all of the ornaments, they won't sell them straight up. Or let's be honest they should just include their best work with the initial purchase.

Just play iron banner. You have a great chance for getting original look iron banner gear at the reward screen.

Edited by PhoenixOfArcadia: 10/7/2016 5:47:39 PMThe gear you get from those engrams act like the Iron Gjallerhorn, or any of the Days of Iron gear you claim AFTER you already claim them, IE, they only have a damage or armor rating of 3.

If you could earn everything with relative ease why would anyone buy the stuff with real money? It would be like trying to sell air or tapwater. To be honest they are playing fair by not selling anything that is required to complete quests or finish the story. Could you imagine if you had to spend real money on keys to open the raid or open the Iron tomb to finish the story? Basically if you like the game enough you can tip bungie a few dollars and get some aesthetic junk for it that you dont just normally find laying all around in the game. Nothing game changing. Just a little thank you in return. If you would rather be like Mr. Pink thats fine. Dont tip. Nobody is forcing you to.

Wow. Stop complaining. Play iron banner and you'll get the gear! And you wont have to waste legendary marks from infusing into a piece of 3 light armor! Everyone ALWAYS has something to complain about when it means they actually have to play to earn rewards.

Edited by SquattingTurtle: 10/7/2016 3:03:39 AMI'm disgusted. I'm working towards getting the Days of iron ornament in the book while anyone with spare money can go buy the package from eververse. It shouldn't be in the radiant treasure. I'd like to see bungie put flawless ornaments and heroic mode raid ornaments in there too while they are at it, see how other people react.

1 ReplyOnly one Radiant Treasure box per week is a -blam!-ing ripoff to sell more silver.
-
8 RepliesMoney solves problems. I literally paid 50$ for iron ornaments. Had tons of leftover silver dust, put it into those dusty engrams, got 1 chest piece of the kind I wanted.

8 RepliesEdited by Lord Kielron: 10/5/2016 7:42:19 AMAgreed. Honestly it really pissed me off seeing that this happened. I was looking forward to finally complete that regalia set I never was able to, and the moment I saw it was silver dust for the engrams, I was angry. Forget finishing that set now. I'm not wasting a fn dime on it This cash grab crap needs to stop. This game has progressively gotten worse since Eververse was introduced.

11 RepliesYeah, can't understand the amount of money people would have to spend to get everything, it's just crazy. At least make a way for silver to be earned

Edited by zaffy2005: 10/6/2016 5:56:09 AMOk so, start off with addressing the dinks and dimwits still banging the "Pay to win" gong. You know what you get for silver dust? Squat. A purely aesthetic ornament, purely aesthetic Chroma, or you can trade it for an engram from Saladin that gives you...da da da DAAAAA.....a single piece of "retro" Iron Banner gear (in style only, no Y1 perks) at A WHOPPING 3 LIGHT! OMFG the game is so broken now! How will we EVER survive the onslaught of LL3 dingleberries?! Seriously. Sit down. Shut up. If you could buy, say, Thorn or an ORIGINAL Year One Gjallarhorn (pre-nerf) or even "generic" gear with top-tier light levels for real cash, you might have an argument. Ships, sparrows, emotes, re-skinned House of Wolves armor at 3 Light, Spektar gear at 3 Light, Iron Banner armor styles from previous expansions ALSO at only 3 Light (I know because I bought one of Saladin's engrams and got a worthless helmet), NONE of this crap is going to "break the game" and at 3 light it sure as hell isn't "pay to win." To the OP, it's called "greed." Why give players something for free when they can charge for it? They don't give a damn that they're already disgustingly overcharging for skimpy "expansions" that add maybe 30 whole minutes of "new" content before reverting back to the same old nauseating grind, they sure as hell won't give a damn about charging money for shiny baubles. Complete the weekly activity for a radiant box, dismantle any and all ornaments you aren't dying to use right away, and just save it up until you have it stockpiled. Personally, I'd be happy if the current economies worked both ways. We can buy parts for glimmer, for example, why not exchange parts for glimmer? We can trade Silver Dust for Chroma, why not let us trade in Chroma for Silver Dust? Hell I probably have close to 200 Chroma just wasting space in my vault because I know, from experience I KNOW that as soon as I finally give up and throw it all away, Bungie will suddenly unclench their collective anuses and make it useful somehow.

I bought 10 of those treasures and all I wanted were some DoI ornaments and I got none. Managed to get 13 silver over all though...

Edited by Gizmo, Adept: 10/6/2016 7:53:27 PMDon't even bother buying those engrams, they only drop at 3 light. Unless you have gear you're willing to infuse into them, and materials you're willing to use to get them upgraded, they're pointless. The only thing they're good for is dismantling for glimmer, legendary marks and armour materials.

1 ReplyI bought an Xbox for Halo. I bought an Xbox 360 for Halo. I bought a PS4 for Destiny. I've bought all my consoles for Bungie games. The old Bungie made me feel like throwing money at the screen and I did. This new Bungie makes me feel like I'm throwing money down the toilet. With the introduction of Eververse I knew they crossed a line I had to stop at. I wasted $100 today on useless shit because I felt like it. I can gladly say to this day I haven't spent 1 cent on any of that Eververse bullshit. You lost a long time hardcore fan Bungie... but what does that even matter anymore? Keep fleecing kids for their allowance & stay pimp'n Bungie.

3 RepliesEdited by HalfY: 10/6/2016 11:03:54 AMI think the way they have implemented the whole ornaments thing is awful, I understand it is possible not to spend any real money and still be able to put ornaments on gear. But it looks like it'll take you quite a number of weeks just to be able to do this to one piece of gear. I don't really mind so much as they are only cosmetic, but the way they hyped these up and continue to market these is a bit distasteful imo. It doesn't feel like they really care about players being able to customize their gear but only care about you spending extra money on them. just my 2 cents

1 ReplyFor a game I've had to purchase many DLCs for, it does seem to have a very free-to-play style microtransaction store. So expensive.
-
They arw getting mor3 and more frustraing
-
You can get silver dust but it is only there dismantling a ornament or buying it you don't get enough. It'd take 7 weeks of dismantling ornaments JUST TO GET ENOUGH TO BUY ONE FROM XUR
-
5 RepliesDon't forget you can't even wear your flawless ornaments because you don't have enough silver dust to put them on.

2 Repliesis infuriating....chill kid...it's obsolete next fall
