This is a bit belated but whatever, since your hero Bernie Sanders has fallen what will you do?
How will you vote?
I keep hearing people on both sides claim heir to Sanders supporters but when i ask self professed bernouts or berniebros in person i get mixed responses.
I think some of it is explained that Sanders core were low information voters, I don't mean any spite when i say that it's just an observation.
Sanders most enthusiastic supporters I have found to be very well informed but many of his more casual ones seem to have had little idea what they were actually supporting but really liked his anti establishment rhetoric none the less.
To Illustrate the types of supporter I'm referring I point to a co worker that identifies as a socialist and is entirely aware of what that means, and my sister-in-law that identifies as a "small government libertarian" yet unironically supported sanders despite the fact that most of his policies involved expanding the government.
Personally I think if you agreed with Sanders on policies then you probably fall more in line with Hillary than trump.
But if you were solely for Sanders to rage against the machine or "the establishment" then I would think Trump is your guy.
But anyway what do yall think?
if you weren't a Sanders supporter just click "not voting" to see the results.
1 ReplyIf a Bernie supporter votes for trump or abstains from voting, they weren't a Bernie supporter to begin with. Bernie and Clintons platforms are almost identical on multiple key issues ,and by turning your back on Clinton because you don't like she is "from the inside", you are a hypocrite .

1 ReplyWell, my ideals certainly fall more in line with Hilary, but I do hate how much of a production she is. That being said, I'll either vote Hilary or abstain from voting. I don't like the idea of not voting, because this is the first presidential election I'll actually be able to (20 yrs.), but I'm not exactly enthusiastic in voting for someone like Hilary. I wouldn't say "I'm with her" more like, "she invited herself." I think socialism, or at least, moving towards a socialistic system, is more beneficial for society. Free college tuition, universal healthcare, revamping the pharmaceutical system, etc. I understand people's gripes with it, I understand the problems that come along with it, I don't wish to debate, if you have a problem with what I've said, keep it to yourself.

my sister-in-law that identifies as a "small government libertarian" yet unironically supported sanders despite the fact that most of his policies involved expanding the government.
There's this weird detachment that left-libertarians have. Apparently a big government is one that imposes religion and traditionalist values on you, and a small one is secular and socially progressive. That's apparently where it ends. I disagree with that idea. A welfare state is a hallmark of a big government.

That the ones that know the policies are the "enthusiastic" ones is a completely obvious observation that doesn't actually say anything about Sander's voters except that they match the general populace in that respect.

8 RepliesIm pretty sure half of the users that voted were not even bernie supporters. You didnt leave a "results" option which means trump/hillary supporters would vote in your poll just to see results.. skewing the results Remember when polls used to have a results option? Pepperidge farms remembers

I think not everyone who voted is a sanders supporter

2 RepliesSanders was never an anti establishment candidate. He's a career politician and an insider like all the others. He was also controlled opposition

7 RepliesI like both 3rd party candidates. Although I don't like that Johnson is pro franking. Stein also makes some anti vaccine statements, and is for reparations.

2 RepliesIf I lived in America I'd vote Jill, as I refuse to vote for someone I don't like, wasted vote or not.
