Why Supremacy IS fun and why shotguns are not broken
To those complaining about shot guns in supremacy, you do know the objective of the game...right? Kill opponent, grab their orb before their team does, denying you of the kill. Meaning close quarter combat is a must, long range wep are not the go to. So shotguns, sidearms, fusions will dominate. Scoring shotgun kills in supremacy is easy money, because the opponent will be trying retrieve their fallen's orb.
The strat i used yesterday was score a medium distance kill, run to orb, crotch with shotgun in hand...i was amazed how many people would just run up to the orb with no awareness that i was sitting there, quick blast to the face. And it was not because the shotgun had ridiculous range or increased dmg, its just because u were standing 1ft away from me. I would score multiple kills like this. Also, I am far from the best pvp player, to those who care..look it up.
I find supremacy fun as sh!t..because its fast pace and lots of oh sh!t moments..campers gtfo, this is not the mode for you.
So to the shotgun cry babies..get yourself a shotty, learn the gamemode..and wreck face.
*edit - Just to clarify, not saying just to run shotty, but if I have a close quarter tick on my radar..shotty will be coming out. As I mention above, my strat invloves getting a medium range kill, rush orb with shotty out or any other close range wep.

1 ReplySupremacy is just a mob mode. What ends up happening in many games is that 1 team gets wiped in a single fight then that team gets their members spawned in random corners of the map while the other team runs in a group making every engagement 6v1

It's a fast paced game mode,.. So it is obvious that there are shotguns... They are not broken at all, you just need to better than the shotgun player...

No shit they weren't aware you were there if you are crouched you don't show up on their radar and if you are around a corner they can't see you visually. If you didn't notice everyone is rushing everywhere in supremacy.

They were either ADS for too long, weren't and just misread their radar, knew some one was within medium radar and rolled the"what secondary does my opponent have" dice and lost (which is a dumb idea), saw a shot gunner warrior-ing towards them and missed because of that warrior's jukes, stepped into a Titan bubble, came within 10-15ft of a Titan bubble and dropped an emote... the list probably goes on. Snipers reward aim, shot guns punish mistakes. Against a sniper you should never challenge a "lane" and against a shot gun you should never challenge 15ft radius without plans. The first time some one tricked my into walking around a corner to get my legs blown off by their shotty changed me. Thank you to that person. High impact snipers are widely available, and if you get shot gun melee-d out of your super *that's right* you were out smarted.

You say campers gtfo this is not the mode for you. However you've just told us that is your strategy. Get a kill then use the tags as bait, while you hide with a shotgun nearby. By your own logic, you sir need to gtfo.

Supremacy is a blast to play. The was the only mode I played yesterday and I haven't had that much fun in a long time playing pvp. I'll admit I was a bit salty at how many shotys I saw on my first game and thought it was gonna be a shoty game mode, but I was wrong. Stuck with my sniper and had a blast. It's a great mode to learn to be a bit more aggressive when sniping plus it's a lot easier to lead people into your shots with how much more aggressive people are. Nobody can really blame people for using shoty in the game mode, it's pretty much the best choice. Tbh, if this was the time before I've really put in work to become a better sniper I'd be using a shoty myself

1 ReplySnipers want to play a primarily close game mode ....amused to no end How many times have shotguns had adjustments made to them...entire perks have been battered or removed And now because passive snipers who dont want to move are complaining when there is literally a whole bunch of playlists which already cater to their playstyle I am sure when there is a doubles supremacy playlist you will be able to pull out your 15 plus shots of sniper ammo and rack up the kills you so desire....who knows you might actually move and pick up the occasional crest now and then

Its not that they're op, its that shotguns are used constantly (and seemingly mostly by warlocks but that's just my experience.) It is beyond frustrating to constantly rushed by and one shot with next to no defense.

The mode is fine, I understand how it is played, but when Bungie pretty much makes it a requirement to win games in crucible and play a certain game type in PvP and run certain weapons it gets annoying. To get Iron Lord gear you need to finish a lot of Supremacy games. The grinding is real and tough if you don't run a shotgun. That said, I finished in 1-2 days of supremacy with a friend and got it all finished for Iron Lord armor.

5 RepliesSpecial weapons are now balance, what isn't is special ammo. People can use these weapons as primaries because they have don't run out of ammo. Imagine how many primaries would be used if special only dropped once in a game.

I garantee you that Bungie will notice a massive uptick in shotgun usage combined with complaints on here, reddit, and streamer youtube videos and then nerf shotguns. I would not be surprised if they nerfed the range, ammo, and stability of shotguns, especially Party Crasher, Conspiracy Theory, and Matador 64. Im not saying they should nerf shotguns, but ill be very surprised if they didn't honestly. Honestly, this game mode would be better if they would just buff ARs. Imagine a pre-nerfed Doctrine in Supremacy. You'd be able to melt all the Juggernauts, and shotgun sliders. I would also go as far as to removing special ammo from Supremacy.

Yeah Supremacy, aka da bum rush. When you're not being trippleteamed or having the whole enemy team spawn on top of you........ .........some asshole will come sliding in front of you claiming your crest(s). I mean literally some guy will be watching you fight someone to the death an not help in hopes of denying you crest and taking the enemies in case you traded kills. -blam!-ing stupid. Man.

Just another Clash. After a while it'll fizzle because eventually you'll all figure that out. Mostly I'm just disappointed in Bungie because it shows zero creativity. Just follow on the coat tails of CoD and Halo. No courage to blaze new trails and come up with their own cool ideas.

High impact shotguns are broken. They have continued to dominate the archetypes aonlich so none of the others are used at all. They need brought in line with the other shotguns just like the LDR impact class just got brought in line. The games I've played have been 5 or 10 to 1 in favor of shotgun to primary kills with next to no snipers and a little bit of fusions sprinkled here and there. It's dominated by blade dancers and stromcallers because snipers aren't there to shut them down and nightstalkers aren't being played because the new artifact ruins wombo. Shotguns have been the dominant weapon type in most playlists for two years now and it has just been amplified outside of elimination since 3.0 update. High impact need brought in line.

6 RepliesI just stick to PVE in Destiny. I've never seen PVP so bad outside of COD. The maps are too small to ever balance anything properly. Look at BF4, shotguns are even more powerful in that, the maps however, require you to use weapons that are more suited for engaging targets are longer ranges. So instead of crying about guns why don't we ask for bigger maps?

Oh please. Shotguns are so overpowered and not in just game mode. You have almost all full teams running with party crasher and only. They need to get rid of the spawning with shotgun ammo.

Idk, I think shot guns are in a weird place. I don't think they are over powered anymore. I think the problem is the peer to peer connection. With all the money these guys are making especially with cosmetics, wouldn't you think they would throw in a dedicated server? I only die from shotties when a guy is teleporting all over and or is invulnerable due to lag...
