The "In Times Of Need" shotgun needs to be completely removed from the game.
So, if you play Crucible, you've maybe managed to score you a legendary Shotgun, by the name of In Times of Need.
However, you probably dismantled it because it is the shittiest shotgun in the entire game. Like ever.
Here's why.
It has a low rate of fire. But it also has a low impact, AND range.
Meaning that it shoots slow as shit, it hits like shit, and the range is shit.
It's shit. I don't even know how it made it into the game.
I want to meet the developer who was like "Yeah, this is a nicely designed shotgun, the community is gonna love this thing."
In Times Of Need. The flavor text is all like [i]In Times of Need, pull this trigger[/i] or some shit.
But it reality, when you're in times of need, you'd be better off putting this shotgun away and getting another god damn gun out.
You may think I'm exaggerating about how bad it is, but it really is [i]that bad.[/i]
A very lousy rolled Hakke shotgun will outperform a God rolled In Times of Need.
I'm not even kidding.
When's the last time you were killed by this shitty shotgun?

ITON is actually archetype breaking in a bad way in every category, worse that the starter shotgun by a lot.

I remember reading this post earlier this weekend so when I saw this shotgun rear its head in trials I chuckled thinking... "here we go this should be easy" Nope. Or that kid was a pvp God. He went 9-0 before he died with it; Titan with Garison skating makes any shotgun good apparently.

236 RepliesAll shotguns should have the exact stats as 'in times of need' Why you ask? For one everyone runs party crasher+1, conspiracy theory d. And what do they all have in common? Aggressive ballistics, rangefinder, rifled barrel. Literally everyone uses this shotgun in crucible not even touching their primaries one bit. It's all about shotty melee, run behind corners sit back and wait, shotty melee when they approach. I hope one day they remove rangefinder and range perks on shotguns for good. Back in year 1 crucible was fun because everyone actually used primaries like a boss and now? It's just terrible. Anyone can become gods if they put on mida/shotty. And what's even worse is if they are warlocks running storm caller shotty melee.

Because Bungie can't balance a thing. A shotgun with horrible stats can be improved by removing horrible perks from its roll table. Ensures the weapon would stay mediocre at all times.
