Kills and wins in Private Matches should NOT count towards Grimoire progress.
I can't emphasize this enough. Grimoire progress absolutely [i]shouldn't[/i] be obtained through private matchmaking. No other game allows progress in custom matches because it promotes boosting, so why should Destiny be any different?
This is going to completely destroy leaderboards, legitimate KD's/wins, and legitimate kills/medals earned in the Crucible.
On behalf of the Grandmasters of Grimoire, I'd like to ask Bungie to change this. We're a relatively small group that has earned our way to the maximum grimoire score, and I'd hate to see all the effort we put into our Crucible wins (Rumble requiring the most effort) to end up being for nothing.
We hope that one day there will be a reward for reaching Grimoire milestones and any form of boosting would ruin the uniqueness of said items. I hope this message is seen by the devs at Bungie, and I hope action is taken.

15 RepliesNo way should this happen. Im very average at pvp and have had my ass kicked hundreds of times trying to get my final grimoire for 100 rumble wins. Stil not there yet but when I hit that 100th win I know that I deserve it. So what now anyone can just get a group of friends together to let them win and get the same grimoire? That stinks.

I paid for my game experience and if I don't want to get grimoire by grinding again the plague of pvp issues then I have all the right to play with friends and earn them like that. Yes boosting is a thing. It's not new and players will continuously pick apart games for ways to avoid grinding. Let's get over it. U want to be salty about working hard for ur max score yet no one remains salty when Max light was only obtained from a raid and now bungie has catered to the pvp babies and made trials offer max light.

Whilst I would never use private matches to boost, I don't see the problem with it, it doesn't impact any players game negatively and some people want to be able to do that sort of thing.

Private matches shouldn't reward anything in my opinion. No drops, no XP, nothing.

My guess is this was a bigger change than they were ready to implement and they didn't want to hold back private matches. But then again, what the hell do I know [/spoiler]

7 RepliesWhere did bungie say this? If this is true they have essentially destroyed the value of KD and WL. Now when searching for good players for trials, all you'll find is terrible players who boosted their KD.

They didn't say it effected wins in game modes. And getting kills with certain weapons is possible in patrol so that doesn't matter either when it comes to private matches. My point is, even if grimoire DID matter. This would have virtually no effect.

It dosnt really matter because grimoire score dosnt get you anything. It's really only 100 or so extra grimoire score.

Grimoire is literally pointless. Most of the Destiny community barely even acknowledges its existence. And who cares if people pad their K/D or W/L? As soon as they get into a real match they will quickly be exposed as a fraud.

9 RepliesBefore custom games 99% of people said Grimoire "didn't matter". Bungie states that kills will count crucible kills towards Grimoire and everyone gets pissed off..... Who cares.... It's a video game. No one will remember you accomplishments when you stop playing.
