"try hard"
I don't get why everyone says the crucible is full of try hards. The point is to win. If you play casual and lose it your fault you were out played. I get outplayed alot and I'm trying! I never have gone into the crucible thinking ah Im just gonna take it easy. I'll bet everyone else will take it easy on me because Its very apparent to everyone in here I'm taking it easy.

1 ReplyThe problem is that in this type of game there is two types of fun. #1 type of fun is the joy of winning. These are the people that equip the best weapons and go into every game with 2 goals, to better themselves and to win the game. #2 type of fun is the joy of the weapon. They have more fun using whatever weapon they like, they don't care about the win nearly as much as they do having a really solid weapon. However, it is in human nature to like winning and hate losing. So despite the fact that they like cool weapons more than wins, they still really like wins and identify #1 people as "tryhards." So while the game for you personally may be about winning and learning, a lot of people just like to use their favourite weapons and screw around a bit. I'm personally a #2 and that's why I'm finding crucible as of now to be very anti-fun. I was lucky enough in Y1 however to absolutely love Last Word and the "Her Courtesy" shotgun.

They see mida + sniper and last word + sniper as try harding because it's the meta. If the person that kills them uses a non-meta weapon, that apparently doesn't make them a try hard. That is at least what I think they think.

Let the salt flow![/quote] That is exactly why people say it. Because I do go into Crucible thinking "I'mma just go screw around". It's the guys who go into the daily Crucible event with their Doctrines and Conspiracy Theories, all kitted out in their ToO gear and scarab emblem, they're the try hards. They take what is a casual event and turn it into the pissing match from 'nam.

1 ReplyCasual crucible is meant to be for fun. Things on the scale of a Ranked playlist, are supposed to be sweaty. Iron Banner and Trails are the Ranked style playlists. Casual crucible is not.

The term try hard seems to be used by people who can't accept that they were outplayed. The whole point of PvP is to [i]try[/i] to win.

1 ReplyWell destiny isn't exactly the NFL. It's a video game that you play from your couch... Most people don't want to go all out 100% all the time. It's exhausting and not really fun.

3 RepliesI use the term to describe people who sweat in non-sweaty game modes like any of the classic 6v6 games. There are no "try hards" in Trials or IB. Those are meant for you to try hard.
