It should be impossible to hit a headshot with a sniper when getting hit in the head yourself

  • Am I the only person in the entire game who's ever experienced flinch while being shot at?? Sometimes it'll make my shot miss, other times my aim was a little lower and as I've shot the flinch brought my aim to head height lol.

    • Here is the problem though: lag Even if you peg them several times, it may not have registered for them when they pull off their shot. So a dual exchange happens and the one that took lethal damage dies.

    • Fix title to "It should be nearly impossible to hit a headshot with a sniper when getting hit in the head yourself". There are impossible things but this should be nearly impossible. If something is nearly impossible, you can do that exact thing 100 times and you will succeed at least 1 time.

    • I completely agree. When they do this though they need to make it so that shotguns shoot feathers so it balances out special weapons

    • There is already deflection. What you want is to make it impossible for someone to fight back when you landed the first shot, which is simply not how the game works. When you shoot someone, they have the ability to shoot back. The deflection makes it harder, but not impossible, to shoot back. Maybe less so if the sniper has unflinching. As someone who snipes a lot and uses an exotic sniper that DOES NOT have unflinching, I know for a fact its difficult to get off a kill shot (1 shot kill) when someone's tagging me with an SR. I typically try to get a body shot on them and force them into cover instead. However, on occasion, the deflection will take my scope to their head and I'll drop them 1 shot. That is just how the game goes. I've killed plenty of snipers with a SR. It's not impossible. I do it fairly regularly.

    • I'd like it if when a sniper took a head shot from certain weapons, there should be sway based on the impact of the weapon with high impact guns totally throwing your aim off.

      Just reduce body shot damage. Snipers=fixed Edit: most of the time when you hit a sniper with a pulse to the head and they manage to headshot you back, it's mostly luck.

      • Used to agree with this logic. Then I tried using a sniper. Certainly, there are some times when you say "I [b]definitely[/b] should not have hit that shot!", but those are few and far between. Personally, my gripe is with the handling speed. You shouldn't be able to shoot for the body, then quickly swap to your primary and tap them for the rest. Using a sniper should cement you into the role of a sniper. Just like a shotgun maniac has to rush you, a sniper should need to stay far back in order to succeed. Just slow down scope-in and weapon swap speeds.

      • If a sniper is hardscoping I can usually get them without getting sniped. However, quick scoping nullifies any counter sniping techniques. Imo, [b]THAT[/b] is the fix snipers need. Exploitation of auto aim assist by tapping the ads and shoot buttons almost simultaneously is bs.

          Anything done to curtail the sniper nonsense in PVP will likely render them useless in PVE, and that's just a no-no.

        • I would say that when a guardians shield is depleted (on a headshot shot only not body shots) then they should descope. This would reward team fire situations and still give the sniper a chance to snipe.

        • Core of the issue is this. Flinch moves the same way every time and re-centers in a consistent and timely way. People have gotten used to using a poorly implemented and predictable mechanic instead of actual gun skill. When you are presented with the right opportunity to counter a sniper and are doming them repeatedly they should not be able to get accurate shots off as consistently and easily as they do. There are situations that should allow any medium to long range primary to counter a sniper. The problem is that no sniper will run from that fight because the current flinch makes it a very low risk activity because they know they just have to wait for the flinch to re-center. Allowing sniping to become a low risk high reward activity. Flinch movement needs to be randomized and not re-center. This would mean that actual thumb skill (Something Bungie talk about wanting to promote) is needed to reacquire your target instead of timing a broken mechanic.

          • Are you kidding snipers are so easy to avoid compared to slide shotgunners. If you are smart and use cover and slide everywhere you can literally make it to where a sniper can never even have a chance to shoot you. Check out videos of Youtuber sirdimetrious for tips he is really good.

          • As much as this drives my crazy in crucible- remember whatever they change happens across the board : I would hate to have increased sway or descoping while I'm trying to kill a lighteater in Kings fall

            • And let me add one more thing.im not one for bitching but shit bungie has nerfed every gun in the game in the game making every one else adjust. So why not snipers? And im sure pulse rifles are going to get the boot again.mainly in the grasp family

                Salty much? If someone kills you when you are shooting them then you are obviously trash. All I do is mess around in pvp and still have a solid 1.0 kd. Idk if your all just shotgun warriors all salty but it certainly seems like it.

                • As a sniper, it is somewhat difficult to hit a shot while under fire. The headshot while getting hit is a rare thing, and I'm surprised (and feel bad) whenever I do hit it. It definitely isn't fun when you shot someone in the face 3 times with a MIDA, only to get headshot by a sniper, but I've been on both sides.

                  • I hate snipers.but im not mad at what guns ppl use. I hope they get nerfed property instead of the bull shit they did with it last time that made me hate using snipers in even pve. But i the mean time ive adapted i move side to side and i make sure my guns have staggering bullets just for snipers lol
