So i rarely use the sunbreaker subclass, and have only just recently finished leveling it up, but some of the perks in the tree seem to be useless, mainly flame seeker (the one that makes hammers track), i think thats what its called, i was hoping someone could give me a good sunbreaker build to use for pvp. I mainly play elimination or skirmish if that helps. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys :)

2 RepliesHey check out these class change suggestions https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/210281619/0/0

2 RepliesThe truth is that Flameseeker is actually the most effective perk out of the three choices for the playlists that you named. Explosive pyre is good but is less effective in 3v3 playlists and Fleetfire is more of a PvE perk. If you go to guardian.gg you can see the average k/d for each perk in each playlist.

9 RepliesI am just having issue with not killing other super when I direct hit them with my hammer

in 3v3's I'd say incendiary nade is the one to go with unless you're really good with sticks. But even then i'd still go with the incendiary since it's far more flexible. Jump is your call but I go with increased control for all classes. Your super tree is best with suncharge. The more hammers perk could be better in 6v6. But suncharge does extra damage. and it can one shot people mid super. Only situations i've seen it not one shot was when the fist of havoc guy had unstoppable on or it was a defender titan with armor of light. Melee tree is pretty trash. I always go with the melee being back instantly if you land a kill. I'd spec for maximum armor and recovery. First tree flame seeker is probably the way to go. Explosive pyre is better in 6v6. and fleet fire is already not very good for pvp. The tracking isn't huge but it can make a difference in some cases. Last tree is easily cauterize. Sun spot builds are okay in pvp but really only in 6v6 and even then it's not great. sunspots are more of a pve thing. Simmering flames if you've got an even spread on stats can be nice. since it's not always smart to expend your super in say trials or elimination right off the bat. It's really your call here. personally i'd rather have the insurance of all my abilities able to give me health back and start regeneration then being able to throw out more nades more often.

Personally I use striker for 3v3, because the super is so good for shutting down other supers + lightning grenades + juggernaut. But sunbreaker: Incendiary grenades Forgemaster Increased control Stoke the forge (thermal vent is bugged) Titan Codex I Flameseeker Titan Codex IV Cauterize

2 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 8/19/2016 8:28:33 PMFlame Seeker was stupid anyway. It shouldn't have been a perk to begin with.
-
There's a lot of uselessness in some of the sunbreaker's abilities.
-
Oh yeah they nerf the flame seeker to the ground right away.

I love sunbreaker and striker, but lately I've been using sunbreaker more. I've done pretty well with it, so here's my tips. I prefer the perk that gives you more hammer and hammers make bigger explosions, cause that simply lets you kill more people. If you're having trouble staying alive, use scorched earth. On the second super modifier slot, here's the one you wanna use. Flameseeker. Lol, I don't know what you have against it; trust me it really helps you hit your shots faster. If you're super opposed to it, use explosive pyre. I have immolation fists though so I can use both, lol. So much fun. And finally, cauterize, cauterize, cauterize. That is the best perk modifying sunbreaker imo. If you need to use the scorched earth to stay alive though, make sure to use fire keeper as that's what actually helps you stay alive.

5 RepliesI main Defender but will sometimes use Sunbreaker with pretty good results in Clash. Setup: 5-5-1 Suncharge - Treat your super like Arcblade. Use in cover near enemies, round the corner and start charging. Great for taking out opposing supers, including AoL bubbles. Note: will not OHKO AoL enemies, but it will push them out of the bubble allowing to get the kill on the outside. I rarely throw hammers. Stoke the Forge (I use Chaperone so if I miss the head and land on the body, I can melee and keep the melee charge) Armamentarium + Fusion grenades - Due to the recent Incendiary nerf, I've been running stickies. Explosive Pyre - as you stated, Flameseeker is basically useless. Explosive Pyre is the way to go here. EXPLOSIONS!!! (Thanks Mr. Torgue) Cauterize - self explanatory. Get your health back (remember the 3 sec cooldown). Helpful for Suncharging into a group. Also, you can take damage from Explosive Pyre so this helps there too. Good luck.

3 RepliesYou pretty much need anything to help boost your super. That's all sunbreakers have. They don't have enhanced radar, shadestep, a blink within their super, a mini fist I havoc in their super, and a super ass long melee. But playing careful and when the stars aline together, you can pull off stuff like this: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Tigerstorm6/video/19840599

1 ReplyFlame seeker didn't really do much before the December nerf but they reduced its tracking by 25% I believe. As for a PvP build, this is what I run: Fusion grenades Increased control for titan skating Forgemaster to get those extra hammers (Don't spam the hammers otherwise you'll miss. Take your time and aim them. You can easily get upwards of 3 kills this way.) Thermal vent on sunstrike (It pushes the enemy away. Really helps deal with shotguns.) Titan codex 1 and 4 for that max armor Explosive pyre because it can chain double or triple kills if the enemy is close and combined with forgemaster those chaining explosions are pretty common. (If you get the immolation fists and want to use those then use flame seeker. It's still more useful than fleet fire.) Cauterize

1 ReplySunbreaker is awesome. It is pretty much the only thing I run on my Titan. I run a tier 11 5-4-2 stat build. I use the armamentarium to have double fusion grenades. I use melting point, although that may change soon. I use explosive pyre because it can actually make for some awesome multikills. And then I use cauterize because it is just so useful. I also run codecs 1 and 5

1 ReplySince the recent buff I have been back to throwing hammers again. I had gone to suncharge when the blast radius on thrown hammers was smaller than the hit detection at times. Now I have been pretty happy with forgemaster and flame seeker with immolation fists. Flame seeker was weak then it got nerfed, but if you use immolation fists for explosive pyre it will bend long range hammers just enough to get an extra kill every once in awhile. Thermal vent is my melee of choice and I use cauterize for the last row.

3 RepliesDepends on the gamemode and your loadout.

Edited by startrekker96: 8/19/2016 3:15:36 PMFor PvP, I almost exclusively use Suncharge, since I can surprise the very few of our Defender brethren that do pop their bubbles. Incendiary grenades add a nice little Touch (of Flame xD), Explosive Pyre makes them go boom when they die (sometimes), and Cauterise is nice enough for the health regen.

1 ReplyThe one on my banner titan has a real good neutral game.. I run stoke the forge with cauterize and fleetfire, that way when i kill with a melee i get a speed boost and recover my heath... Suncharge makes your enemies explode so no need for explosive pyre... Get some legs that give you extra agility when you get a solar double. Grenades are personal preference... Run max armor and a solar chest with extra armor.. Its up to you if you wanna commit to agility or recovery.. Thats the beauty of this build... Your perks will help you alleviate low agility or recovery...

Stickies, sun charge, melting point, flame seeker (it helps), and cauterize w/armamentarium

1 ReplyI have not used the sunbreaker subclass since the horrific nerf that they gave it.

1 ReplyHonestly sunbreaker is really worth using anymore. It needed a small nerd back then but they nerfed it to the ground
