Honest feedback.
Not trying to be an ass. Destiny is awesome. But I think the ships interior and landing loading screens could be made a lot better and truly massively more immersive.
Hope someone sees this though I honestly doubt the devs haven't already thought of it.
Thanks for reading.

17 RepliesAnd No Man's Sky managed to not nail anything else. Destiny's dev time went into skyboxes and gunplay.

Edited by Ardenstone: 8/14/2016 8:41:22 AMI agree. And the reality is that Destiny was built by hundreds of devs and No Man's Sky was made by 13. Being a game developer myself, I can tell you that both games require a huge amount of work. But one thing No Mans Sky sneaked by everyone is the little amount of actual character animation that is in the game. Destiny is built around animation. 3D Hand crafted animation is extremely time consuming. Trust me, I've done it. Even though Destiny uses Mocap they still go back and key frame everything important by hand. No Man's Sky saved a huge amount of time and money not using a lot of animation. This is not the only thing they did. Let me know if you want to hear more. For now I'll just leave it at that. Destiny could have had player controlled ships if they had more time to work on the game when they first built it. It's all about time and money. It comes down to one thing, the scope of the game and what can be cut from the gold build without taking away from the primary aspects of the game. The primary aspects here being FPS and player investment.

Destiny also nailed a lack of story-telling

Destiny NAILED loading screens

All I ask for is probably to have an interior, and a star map to bring up the director. And every "campaign" and raid I finish gives me a trophy. Like a hive stone with a rune on it for crota, fallen weapons from HoW and stuff like that. Anyone else?
-
We should have places at the tower too. Where a guardian could kick their heels up & store their stuff, not a limited vault. Maybe a separate space for activities armor/weapons, for example all your VOG, Crota, YR 1 IB gear, space where collectors could keep their loot & look back at it. Especially since all it is useless now. I grinded VoG 500x only to get a Fatebringer a week or 2 before it was rendered useless.

6 RepliesI see what you mean, but ship flying simply isn't, nor is it meant to be, a component of the game. Ships are just a visual gimmick. Flying is a substitute for a plain old loading screen. Destiny is foremost a shooter.
-
I bought destiny for shooting not to watch a ship land.
-
3 RepliesSeriously Destiny cannot be every game out there. That is why we have multiple games. I'm not trying to be an ass either.
-
Don't think people realise that different games focus on different things. Destiny isn't about your ship. Destiny isn't about landing.
-
Yeah it would be awesome if you could fly your ship in first person
-
No mans sky looks like such an amazing game. It's so smooth and the fact that literally every thing you see you can go to.

Edited by TheShadow: 8/13/2016 2:26:51 AMWell one thing I know for a fact. Bungie can't make ships fly around on the planets or even in space. For the amont of content they would have to add the expansion would cost $100. Hell, Bungie can't even open up the borders so to even thing flying a ship would be an option lol. Although, they could do something other then being lazy with the amont of money that has been thrown at the screen. Hey guys! We are giving you more ships to use as a loading screen. Seriously? They have you guys grinding for hours a day and it can take even months to even get one from one of the vendors. Just so you can say cool. I get to look at a ship i can't do one single thing with other then watch it do the samething that it has been for over 2 years. What might that be?
Nothing...
2 RepliesEdited by Maddmunkey: 8/12/2016 11:26:09 PMMy dream... I want my buddy to message they need help so I call my ship....fly that shit to earth or wherever he's getting shot to shit....then follow a tracking signal straight to him on the level.... And fly my ship straight into the pile of whatever enemy is shooting....or just air support blast their asses...or some sort of awesome jump from the ship and go chuck Norris on their asses.

or We can get more content.

I would argue that Elite:Dangerous did planet landings MUCH better...

1 ReplyIt is a challenge in and of itself, even with assisted landing to land a ship. NMS is indeed the full experience of repairing, maintaining and operating a starship. Especially when on a hostile planet, landing that thing in just the right spot is challenging, this is something Bungie completely missed, all the "different" ships in Destiny do the same thing save for the one you start with. Once you get the hyperdrive only the appearance is different from that point on. I actually blame Bungie for my lack of success in ship to ship combat. JK, it is a challenge though. Time to go back to NMS.
-
1 ReplyIt would be fun to dodge asteroids or shoot pirate ships while you wait for a match or mission to start. NMS is not appealing to me at all. I don't like the material grind, and the lack of multiplayer in both PvP and PvE is just unacceptable. There is no substance to the game. Is practically Dora the explorer in space.

10 RepliesEdited by VertigoX86: 8/12/2016 2:36:26 PMNo Mans Sky could benefit a lot by looking at Destiny and actually having gameplay. I'm tired of reading about every new flavor of the month and what Destiny can learn from it while Destiny will and has outlived every new gimmicky piece of trash. I want space travel too but not procedural garbage. I have an open mind about the future of Destiny. Whatever they do I'm in at this point.

6 RepliesBUMP All these games keep reinventing the wheel & evolving from one another. Why not? No mans sky looks phenomenal. If it were on Xbox I'd buy... Sony and their money....
-
3 RepliesIve said this from tbe beginning... ships need to be bigger, we should have weapons rooms and armor rooms similar to skyrim but different. This would be what is with each character. Then have a house in place of a vault. Much like skyrim. This could be in a open world last city area in which your house wiuld be.
-
4 RepliesBeing able to fly our ships would be great. How sweet would it have been to participate in the space battle in ttk?
-
I don't want want space ship battles in Destiny. That's another game all by itself. Play NMS if you want to fly around space.
-
1 ReplyNo mans sky - next gen only. War frame - next gen only. Expect bigger and better things now that old gen is being dropped.
-
1 ReplyI'll be that dick and crash at any ship
-
I personally prefer Destiny's way of doing it. I don't want the tedium of flying my ship around. i want to be on the planet doing stuff. Ships in orbit are just the matchmaking lobby.
