Seriously, who at Bungie thought that putting defense on class items was a good idea?
I want to be able to wear any class item that I choose. The ghost angel cloak, shattered vault cloak, and kellhunter's hood all are amazing cloaks. They were perfectly fine without defense, Stat boosts, or anything like that.
Same goes for any y1 content. Why would you make y1 content irrelevant when your game is desperately needing more content.
Edit: Let's get this trending so that hopefully someone at Bungie will see this.
Edit: Woke up to over 200 notifications! Outstanding to see how many people feel the same way. And we're trending! To quote someone we all know and love "This is amazing!"

Yeah. You could actually choose your mark without worrying about the defense stats
As a year 2 player I couldn't care less for year 1. You should evolve and year 1 exclusive gear should be banned from competitive play.
Same goes for any y1 content. All that gear should be obsoleted as pricks like you who seek advantage through old gear others dont have should be rendered silent until the end of times.
Edit: Let's get this trending so that hopefully someone at Bungie will see this.
Lets hope they are smarter and ignore it. If they see this lets hope they actually kill all of that trash like thorn, matador 64 etc...
Edit: Woke up to over 200 notifications! Outstanding to see how many people feel the same way. Not only that, but the number of high level class items is pretty low, and they don't change color with shaders anymore. Class items should have never been given a light rating, maybe just stats.
-
remember the good old days when class items increased faction rep.
-
Finally, someone with some sense! GG OP. Bump for you :)

Agreed

11 RepliesU mean the days when this game was good. Ya I remember that.
-
Still kept all my dope class items from y1
-
Still have Shattered Vault cloak, Ghost Angel cloak, Mantle of Gheleon and all the old Dead Orbit capes just in case, Mantle of Gheleon is the best cape ever, just saying but really don't understand why they did it, seems stupid
-
They added defense to class items because it's another thing to grind for, meaning that we have slightly more "content".
-
Agreed

I just want to wear my hunter scarf again without going down a light level

1 ReplyRemember the good ol' days when primaries did damage Remember the good ol' days when the game was fun Remember the good ol' days when raids had good rewards Remember the good ol' days when you actually felt powerful Pepperidge Farm remembers

I remember the good old days we shared the same bed. Also that time we made Potato salad naked and you spilled Miracle Whip on my Bird. Hahahaha such good times we had.

19 RepliesI agree and disagree with you. As it stands now I would like VoG and Crota to be made relevant again but if we want this game to evolve it needs progression. The thing that made WoW raiding cool is that you needed gear from the previous raid in order to be able to challenge the next raid and so on. Of course you had alternatives but for heavy raiding guilds this was a road map. Imagine if you wanted to tackle Crota you needed VoG gear and to challenge Kings Fall you needed Crota gear. You can ramp up the difficulty and add extra challenges to incentives people to run old raids but at the end of the day if you want to move forward (progress) you will have to leave old content behind. Having stats on Artefacts is uninspiring and shit, what we needed where unique skills attached to them to make classes unique, its shitty enough that 99% of classes are dps. Regarding old gear made relevant a feature is available for years in online games and that is Transmog (the ability to copy the design of an old item and apply it to a relevant piece of gear). This is basics we are talking about and Bungie fails at adding proper features because they invest their time into recycle content so they can resell it to us and tinkering that Crucible matchmaking system that even after years its still shit.

Indeed.

37 Replies*sigh* Yes, I remember. I remember how we only had a quarter of the gear. I recall the absurdly op weapons that ruled the crucible. I remember engrams hardly dropping and strange coins being hard to come by. I was there when ascendant materials did nothing but upgrade gear and motes of light were scarce, back when a single weapon was a prerequisite for every raid group. I recall when only one set of armor could get you to max level, so everyone looked the same. I remember when heavy ammo was glitched and weapon parts were nigh impossible to come by. I suffered through lying engrams and tedious bounties. Those were the days when the number of decent looking shaders and ships could be counted on one hand. Yes, I remember, and I'm glad we moved on.
