Go back to your creative days and be the first. Create a game that is an entirely online FPS PvP with no stupid story line to feed! How many gigs on a disc would that free up for maps and FPS PvP content?
Lets face it..we all just rattle through the story content anyway to get to the PvP...just like in Halo, CoD, BF and any other game with an FPS attached. So why not just make a game that is solely FPS..who needs a storey line anyway? I understand the idea behind Destiny, spending time and money on beautiful scenery to run through only once. Destiny is trying to make a content you can revisit constantly...but even that gets old.
So why bother with a PvE story line....Has this been done? Titanfall EA? Not sure. Thoughts.

Yeah let's be like overwatch with all this lore but not even a little detail in the game to tell us, atleast destiny tells a story sorta
-
So, down the path of Overwatch and Battlefront for a PvP only game that has been done only about a few thousand times? No.
-
19 RepliesOr they could make a single player only game with a well thought out and compelling story instead
-
Seriously? PvE is the only reason a large chunk of players like this game. I've sunk way more time into Destiny than Titanfall.

1 ReplyBungo will never go back to it's former glory days. The Bungie we used to know is LONG dead and gone now, unfortunately...
-
Heh...you're one funny sumabich
-
4 RepliesWhy don't you just play overwatch?
-
Bungie needs to rehire Marty and Joe first.

13 RepliesDon't put a story. DONT PUT A STORY?! What the -blam!-! I can't even begin to insult your stupidity. First, using COD as a reference to why people blow through stories is horrible. COD has horrid stories most of the time. Second, not everyone blows though it to get to PvP. I played Reach campaign several times with my friends and didn't play PvP much. I'm currently going to through Bf4 campaign. Honestly, we need BETTER stories in our FPS games, not to get rid of them! Improve it, don't get rid of it! If a game has crappy multiplayer and a great story you don't throw out the multiplayer in the sequel you improve it!

1 ReplyI have a perfect reason they shouldn't do this
Star Wars Battlefront EA
You seem alone on this and agree with the majority below me

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 7/20/2016 4:28:52 AMBungie is making a shit load of money off of Destiny and they have a thriving community. They would not ditch it now nor any time soon. What do you mean by "FPS only"? Halo is a first person shooter game. Destiny is a first person shooter game.
Lets face it..we all just rattle through the story content anyway to get to the PvP...just like in Halo, CoD, BF and any other game with an FPS attached.
This is a generalization and is incorrect. I cherish Halo campaigns and have good fun in the Battlefield campaigns. Also, Bungie doesn't look here.

Bungie seems pretty incapable of balancing a video game. I feel like they do in fact want to pioneer new elements into an fps game...but at the sake of balance. I can't say I'm too fond of their game designing now.
-
Edited by Lone Wolf cjl: 7/19/2016 6:05:07 PMIt would be multiplayer only not fps only.
-
7 RepliesI usually play solely for story actually. There may be a large PvP fanbase in the FPS genre, and while the PvE fanbase is smaller, it's still verymuch there. That being said, multiplayer only games aren't bad, they're just not my thing.

Edited by Lord Headass: 7/19/2016 6:00:46 PMBungie doesn't exist anymore. Only Bungievi$ion. They wont be pioneering or creating anything cool as long as they're activi$ions bitch. Case closed.

Edited by Trestero: 7/18/2016 6:29:34 PM... It has indeed been done with Titanfall. And everyone hated them for it at the time. It doesn't matter how many maps there are. PvP only shooters suffer very much from the fact that at the base level every mode in a given game is similar. The mechanics don't drastically change, and so from that perspective while player experiences vary every match is essentially the same. PvE is, somewhat surprisingly, what changes that because even if you never play it again you have a chance for set piece moments or storylines that give a changing feeling to the game and provide a contrast to the endless slaughterfest. If Destiny was truly full open-world and open-interaction between players, I think it might have been a hit like the world's never seen. Look, we get it. You like PvP. Don't ruin gaming for us because you can't appreciate the other parts.

Never buying a bungie game again
-
1 ReplyLol Bungie will fall out of relevance within the next couple of years, now that Bungie is Activision's bitch anything that they try to do will be controlled by Activision
-
Pretty sure that's exactly what they're doing right now...

Edited by Garzon: 7/20/2016 1:22:33 AMLove me a good double-post
-
Because just as many people want the story. If you want PvP with hardly any background noise. Try playing Paragon.
-
6 Replieslol! wouldn't buy another bungie product, if they were the only developer in the world.

I disagree and yes that has been done. Quite recently rainbow six siege and overwatch for example.
