After acquiring all 3 exotic swords in 1 month here is my takeaway.
1. Acquiring the materials is a stupid grind.
- I get it, you're trying to stretch out the content but damn guys. I shouldn’t have to farm 150-250 materials to get 10 materials I need to move on. This was no fun and kinda killed the experience for me. Which is why I waited so long to complete it.
> if you do this again fix the system so I get a mat every 2-3 nodes.
2. Killing the warden and dark blade within 30 seconds.
- holy shit! This is broken! How come the quest will recognize I killed the warden but doesn't recognize I killed the dark blade in the same instance. So now I have to play the whole goddamn thing twice, or 3 times, just to finish the quest = dumb
> don't put a time limit on when I have to kill the boss, just let me kill him and move the fack on.
3. Wait for arms day materials?
- seriously?! WTF did I collect all of these materials for
> no more, goddamn guys you know this shit is stupid
4. No more crazy long quest lines
- I love long quests, I liked the SS quest, the BG quest, but these sword quests are dumb.

Wow, thanks everyone for your responses and sharing your thoughts, we were on the Trending page for a couple days, pretty rad. Time for some follow ups:
Gathering Materials:
- Some of you disagreed that this was a chore, you actually enjoyed it. I don't mind farming materials, but getting the special materials needed shouldn't be so spread out. Again, every 2-3 nodes should drop what you're looking for.
Are they worth it?
- Yes, if you havent tried to get one yet, I recommend that you do. If you only have 1 definitely go out and get the other 2. They are very fun to use and very powerful. Also, each one has its own special perks and attributes, which makes each one feel unique.
Long quest lines:
- I also love longer quest lines. I thought the SS and BG quest lines were fantastic and really enjoyed that it felt like I was working towards something. However, my complaint is filling quests with "busy work" to make them feel more in depth than they actually are. I think some of the steps in the sword quests could be evaluated and improved for future quests. I.E. no more busy work - make the steps fun.

The material grind wasn't even bad. Equip a sniper and a ghost that tracks materials. Gg As for the dark blade strike, just don't suck. You can get all 3 quests done in the same strike if you're good.

6 RepliesSo someone with 1000+ hours is upset he spent 1 hour per sword collecting material, then waited until a Wednesday like a week is forever in destiny. And upset that they introduce a smaller boss In to the already to easy dark blade arena? Considering the capabilities of the swords in pve I wouldn't complain to much, or just time manage better. Anything in sickening if you do it in one shot

1 ReplyI have two working on my third. I honestly didn't think it was to much of a grind at all. They only bad part was the resource farming but with a Hunter it was a snap. Plus I ended up with 200+ resources so it helped me in that aspect too

1 ReplyThe materials grind was a pain, even with the ghost. That could have been shortened. The rest of it wasn't bad. At least after the first completion we didn't have to do the whole quest again.

I enjoyed the quest when i recieved the weapons because they are powerful and ehat exotics should feel lkke.

Farm the materials using the same method we used with the HoW chests!

Took me 110 materials, in 3 days, playing 30-60 minutes a day, to find all the rare mats. Darkblade Strike was easy with Stormcaller. Entire quest took about 5 days. Finished farming mats on Tuesday.

Artificially extending play time, like u said. The mats grind was ridiculous. I have 2 swords but didn't finish the arc one. The only step left? Darkblade thing. That's it. Just no real motivation to do it. Had it and the chaperone at the very last step for 4 months or more just setting there. Ahhh well, F it lol

11 RepliesHow come everyone is saying it takes 150-250 resources to farm for those 10 rare ones? All 4 times I did it I had the 10 rare ones in 90-120 resources going to my inventory while having the perk that gives (a chance at) double resources.

2 RepliesI personally love long quest lines but i will admit that i had 5 helium filaments when i started for my razelighter. I know have razelighter...........and 400+ filaments! The grind is at final fantasy lvl jeez

3 RepliesTbh I think that the on3 of the.most hardest challange was the last strike u had 2 do.it was annoying but God dam that feeling when u kill ur knight just after u kill alake hul and a mission pop ups saying go meet zavalas to collect my sqord
