Banned from crucible due to having a red bar which i can not fix

Hello I have been playing destiny since it first came out and purchased all dlcs due how much I liked the game and today I was was banned from crucible for 2 weeks. So in to begin this past month my parents have switched internet providers due to the cost difference. The new internet turned out quite a disaster due to it cutting out every couple hours or lowering the quality of my internet for hours on. Yet this difference did not affect the people I have played with during crucible. instead whenever my internet started to act up it would cause me to either not get any kills, get killed, reconnect to my game causing me to loose all my ammo except for the default primary ammo or simply disconnect from the current game I'm in. Now while dealing with this for the last month I acquired a message from Bungie which was sent to inform me that I have been banned from playing crucible for 2 week due to my red bar. Although it has only affected my gameplay causing me to lose loot from every game I lagged out of. I should not have to miss out on more loot for something I do not have power over. Sorry for not correcting any of grammar mistakes i don't have the time.

This ban is bs. Especially with no way to dispute/see data. Im running internet with 100mb up and down. Got ban during the 48 hour period that i did NOT play the game. Basically i got a big -blam!- you from bungie and i just have to eat it. This could be a bungie error. Love this game but this is BS. I get this is bungies game but randomly banning players without a chance for feedback is ignorance.

    • In mmorpg's, players with poor connection won't be invited or allowed to raid in group content. With Destiny, bungie is just trying to avoid the same problem while also trying to punish intentional red bar cheating. If you were the one with a perfect connection and a player with a poor connection was negatively impacting your experience you may not feel the same way you do now. Best of luck getting a better internet provider. I understand your frustration but you should realize there is little chance your bad connection is only affecting you in crucible.

Unfortunately, Poor Connection is a offense Bungie doesn't take lightly, as your lag might decrease the quality of the game for others in your match. Poor Connection doesn't just affect you. Sorry to hear this, I recommend you try and make the best of your connection. Make sure your console is hardwired to your modem, ensure there is no packet loss, make sure your NAT type is good, ensure your modem has the necessary ports opened/forwarded, and make sure there is no interferences. I aslo recommend you turn off any devices connected to your internet when playing Destiny, as this could affect your Upload and Download speeds, especially if someone on your network is streaming videos. You're just going to have to wait it out. There are Account Restrictions and Bans in Destiny. These are 2 separate entities. Account Restrictions are temporary, while Bans are permanent. • Bungie has the power to restrict you for whatever they see fit, in this case they restricted you due to your Internet connection. They are in the "right" legally.

          • Honestly it's because of this garbage that I decided to jump off the Destiny bandwagon. If you want to ban people over red barring maybe get some actual servers to host with. Bad decisions and horrible treatment of customers made Taken king the end of Savage Jarhead's journey through Destiny. Inb4 people start saying why are you still on the forums!?!?!?!?!? Notice how I said Taken King is the end Rise of Iron isn't out yet.

          • Bull. You were restricted before, which me and you were well aware

            • Well...you know the rules. You effect others games. Do not play if you do not meet the requirements. I got one working leg, I don't complain if I lose the thousand yard dash

              • Even if you aren't getting kills, that doesn't mean that you haven't hindered anyone. There are times when characters from people like you continue to move around the map, and not take damage. Now even though you aren't killing them, you're still there, distracting them, and leading them to wasting their ammo/abilities/supers on trying to kill you, meanwhile giving other players on your team an advantage.

                • Unfortunately, even if it is not your direct fault (with you saying it is your providers fault), why should other players in the Crucible have to suffer when we pay for premium internet connections and configure our connections so we do NOT get restricted. Yes your red barring gives you a significant advantage in the Crucible and extremely frustrating to play against. Regardless, Bungie does not discuss nor overturn restrictions or bans. You must work on the problem that got you restricted (your internet) and improve it or you possibly could face another restriction. It clearly has been stated that Destiny requires a PREMIUM (read: not just broadband) internet connection.

                  • Im sorry for saying this but my experience in destiny should not be hindered by your Internet not being up to par with the recommendations. I assume more than a few people reported you for bad Internet quality due to it being a disaster for them in crucible. You might not like whats happening but its just the way it is. What id do is try to ask the parents to upgrade or hope for the best and risk playing crucible.

                    • Bungie loves to blame the customer, but still does not use dedicated servers to maximize profits. Just play Warframe!
