Kings Fall has been a very debatable raid in terms of how good it is. It did have some very nice qualities and encounters. But when it came to Hard mode, KF was a flop.
Doing KF hard mode would allow guardians to get black versions of the same weapons and armor that we already had and created another grind to max light since it increased max light to 320 (from 310).
Compared to hard mode of VoG or Crota's End, which both gave elemental primaries, new ship, sparrow and had a chance for an awesome raid exotics, KF gave virtually nothing of value. Even the cool hard mode shader was locked behind the rng of getting a full raid set.
Please, please don't repeat this with the next raid. Create a badass raid exotic that we can use outside of the raid and have fun. Do something with the primaries to make them worth it (add elements or give great stats or great perks, because KF primaries were average).

I would say the raid itself is really good, its just been the only raid worth playing for a while so of course its going to get boring after a bit, but yes I agree with the weapons, they need to make the raid weapons better this time around. Touch of Malice is one of the best designed weapons in the game and it is sad thats its only really viable in the raid and the lore behind it was great also. The primaries dont necessarily need to have elemental damage but whatever makes them unique needs to be good.

15 RepliesElemental primaries were a bad idea. Realistically it limited weapon choice. You only needed 3 primaries, one for each burn, and you were done. If they put elemental burns back on, then they need to do it for ALL primaries, not just raid ones. It also put people who didn't have a raid group at a disadvantage.

Wouldn't mind seeing a quest line to adding an elemental to your favourite weapons. Not to long but would be nice to add your own burn

1 ReplyThe weapons would have been AMAZING if the perk "cocoon" was like the perk "oracle disruptor" in the fact that it is an extra slot(i.e. will of light) or over the side of the perk tree like "oracle disruptor", because since it takes a perk slot it means that the guns are much less "worthy" compared to guns where both perks can change. I.E. a imago loop with outlaw and life leech is better than the zaoulis bane with life leech, because imago loop also comes with a complementary perk other than life leech(outlaw)

Except it was changed this way to appease the hordes of casual players that constantly deluge this forum with complaints of unfairness that they can't get certain weapons because its just too hard.

4 RepliesWhat I'm tired of is the "you must have this weapon to join us" crap. I've got some nice weapons but because I dont have the ToM I get kicked out of a lot of raids. All I want to do is complete KFHM. Hopefully I'll be able to do this new raid before everyone stops playing it.

4 RepliesYou forgot the main one: If one person goes down it becomes almost impossible to complete. How many times has lag got someone killed/booted. Which was a wipe every time.

And i feel it made solid progress in adding more varied 6 man mechanics and thus putting greater emphasis on teamwork. It made a refreshing change from the old 6 man raids where you can suceed by 1 or 2 guys doing most of the hard work. I'd give it a solid 8/10 buts thats just my opinion Likes: Tom quest tied to raid progression. Loved the jumping sections. Running aura for my team was exciting the first few times. Enjoyed the boss mechanics, especially golgoroth when done legit 6 man gaze. Fun slam dunk easter egg. Amazing grimoire/lore Dislikes: A little on the lenghty side. Weak challenge modifiers. Poor Loot Still no real need for a warlock in a primary job role unless taking a slam is deemed super usefull. Bosses remain stationary, id like some moving targets.

2 RepliesIs it just me or did the KF normal weapons look cooler than the KF hard weapons? The color scheme just seemed more menacing and organic. The hard ones looked like the normal ones but dumped in oil.

4 Repliestriple RNG loot turned off a lot of former raiders RNG for drop RNG for stats RNG for light level (major problem) I still only do KF if guaranteed max light level drop (challenge checkpoints) KF weapons I've kept -quillums -rocket (tracking ins't bad if I need a void legendary rocket) -sniper (mostly when I need arc, not bad in pvp sometimes) -pulse (one with firefly/one with glass half full) -scout (not used much, might infuse to something else) basically quillums and smite are the only true "keepers" from KF imho and even those are pretty easy to find something just as good/better

Are you kidding? A.) That's probably too much work for Bungie (unless micro transactions are involved) B.) They try really really [i]really[/i] hard to extend play time. That's why the raid armor/weapons are only a different color/higher level (with RNG stacked with RNG. Got a chest piece that you needed? Nice! But it's not the level you needed), that's why one mistake causes a wipe, and that's why the RNG is shit. In conclusion: PvE end game is lackluster because it's an excuse for more play time or more money. I mean, crucible can be stupid, but it's a lot more fun.
