Post Update Edit: It appears that it is still a 2 shot, each dealing 8,000 damage a shot. I'm personally very happy to see that this is the case. Feel free to keep up the discussions everyone. Just make sure to keep it civil. I'm also going to leave the post incase any new onlookers wonder what it was about.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the buffs, they were well needed, but I feel like this will make defender less viable in PvP. As is, it takes 2 shots with golden gun to pop a bubble. With the 50% (80%) increase in damage, it could quite possibly make it a 1 hit. It will also almost guarenteed 1 shot someone inside who is affected by Armor of Light. I feel like a slight increase in durability, maybe 20% - 30%, would be beneficial. Thoughts?
Edit: To clarify, the only thing I think needs a buff is the durability, and that's if and only if Ward of Dawn is too easily destroyed because of the update tomorrow. However, other suggestions and discussions are completely welcome. And please, try to be friendly and respectful towards eachover.
400 replies edit: Great discussions so far everyone. My apologies for not being able to reply to everyone, I've been taking a final exam. I don't have one for the next two days so I will be able to discuss with as many people as I can.

I fully agree, as someone who uses defender mostly in PvP. I also think the bubble should last at least 3-5 seconds after death. Simply because half the time I use the bubble, not too long after I have activated it I get killed by whatever and there's my super gone.

It's fine, as long as it can still take hits, it's okay.

2 RepliesTitans dont need anything else added to their already huge advantage they currently have over hunters and warlocks in PVP . The bubble is fine as it is imo
-
9 RepliesKinda want it to change colour really. I could have it change whenever I want :)

You've raised a point that hadn't even registered in my head. I'll definitely keep my eye out in crucible to see how the higher damage supers fair against the ward now.

4 RepliesBubble is perfect where it's at

Given that Golden Gun has a base damage buff plus an additional buff against AI, I suspect they tested it and liked the balance between it and the Ward, but I'm eager to test it for myself. After all, I got pretty excited when they said Landfall would no longer break bubbles, until I realized that Stormcallers just waited a second longer to cast Stormtrance so that their feet were inside my bubble so that the Landfall just outright killed me! Fist of Havoc and Nova Bomb were pretty much always bubble-breakers anyway, so I don't think much will change there.

21 RepliesIt'll happen. You point out one of BungieVision's biggest flaws. They lack the ability to think through something. Something sounds good, and then bam!, seriously unintended side effect. The buffs to bladedancer are great from a PvE viewpoint but worthless in PvP, but the nerfs pretty much tank the subclass. The suppression buff and shade step nerf was all the Nightstalker needed. The wombo combo wasn't necessary, but I'll take it. Now we can just jump straight up and out of that smoke bs. Onto MY subclass, the gunslinger. What in the f*uck BungieVision? Trip mines were only viable grenade option. They could OHK most of the time, not always, how many times did you GS's see a 194 damage? All the time, pretty much sticks were the only way. Now no more sticky and less damage too boot. This means trip mines are now utterly useless along with the best hunter exotic for GS, the young ahamkara spine. Now the throwing knife. One hit headshot with the burn didn't kill, but still did to much damage? Really!?! Half the time the burn doesn't proc anyway, but whatever, it doesn't matter, it's just meant to tickle. Also no more armor buff for using the worst perk in destiny, circle of life. I only used this perk during trials for the obvious reason of more armor. There was really no trade off because gamblers dagger is useless in trials and as stated before incendiary blade doesn't work most of the time anyway. They didn't say that +1 buff was being added anywhere else, so clearly they don't want hunters with almost Max armor. Any buff they did to the super really doesn't matter in PvP, extra range on a OHK railgun, not all that necessary. This felt like a personal attack on my PvP play style, and I for one am not to happy 😱😭😵😖😨😠 All that being said, I know many of you were reading about that castration with a smile on your face and glee in your heart. To that I say, see you in the crucible. Neutered Hunter, MandallianGiant

6 RepliesI was going to agree with you, but then you put effected instead of affected.

35 RepliesEdited by Turbo: 6/14/2016 3:48:30 AMBubble should have been invincible from the start. The description of the super literally states: Shape Void Light into an INDESTRUCTABLE shield to protect you and your allies. It poses very little offensive threat in PvP, and can be destroyed by nearly every super.

Nah bubble is fine as is. It's perfectly balanced and needs no buff or nerf.

1 ReplyWouldn't it be cool if you could choose to pop a bubble or to shoot say two or three bubbles at enemies. The bubble would trap enemy then slowly rise like a helium balloon with enemy inside and glide off map! It would be hilarious!!!! Those trapping bubbles would be indestructible
-
5 RepliesIts still going to take two GG shots to destroy a bubble, it would need a 100% damage increase to one-shot.
-
I didn't even think of this. The amount of damage it takes may work on a different scale though. As with a red health enemy vs an ultra in PvE. It may still take 2 shots. It'll def still take 3 hammers It only took 1 Nova bomb / FoH before I'm not sure how many swipes it takes from razors edge, but I don't think it's damage was changed anyhow.

11 RepliesDefenders should have a 2nd grenade option...but then Bungie just hates Titans
-
1 ReplyThe only thing a Titan bubble needs is to stop those stupid flayers shockwaves that just streamline penetrate through it.
-
1 ReplyThis was my first thought as well when I read the notes. I main a defender and as it stands I felt it was pretty balanced. Two shots to pop the bubble and a third to kill whoever is inside, which with combustion could be everyone pretty much.
-
1 ReplyI think taking out a bubble with two GG shots is just ok because then I'd be able to at least get one kill if no potato aim happened so therefore I agree the bubble needs more health in PvP to balance out against the other super buffs
-
3 RepliesI run Titan as my Main Character: I feel like all of the classes are pretty solid/fair right now. Defender doesn't need a Bubble buff -- there are several ways to Spec for issues with getting your bubble popped: suppression grenades + Armamentarium for double Super Shutdown power and Gift of the Void (if your bubble pops it creates 3 more orbs) + coupled with Crest of Alpha Lupi has Bubbles creating 6 orbs. And the Bubble being casts re-fills a grenade and melee. Now Bubble should be un-breakable? Seems a little unfair.

Defender is trash in pvp unless you skate around with no backup plans shotgun like me it'd fun to do it really is I wouldn't mind a durability increase tho because a sunsinger spamming nades can take down a bubble

Edited by Sir.Cabbage: 6/14/2016 3:30:26 PMthey should do it in the rise of iron and put rise of iron on all consoles EDIT: this means i agree

2 RepliesYes, and come on..they increased storm caller ? So basically decrease most of what made the hunter effective and increase everything else. The hammer of sol was already like an 8 shot golden gun, so let's increase it more ? That makes no sense
-
4 RepliesDefender bubble is perfectly balanced quit your whining and just play the game!

5 RepliesRead the title, no. Saint-14 bubbles are annoying to go against but really good tactically. Keep those. Just because Hunter's got nerfed and other supers got buffed a bit doesn't mean EVERY super needs a buff.
