12 RepliesThis literally makes me sad. Year 2 nooks like this who think thorn is just a weapon you can obtain easy and buy from xur or something. They will NEVER know the struggle of obtaining an exotic bounty then getting void kills and doing that phogoth strike and killing the wizard etc.

1 ReplyYou can't get a Thorn. You can only get a nerfed year 2 version from a legacy engram, but you cannot get the real thing. Sorry, but that's the truth.

3 RepliesI heard form a friend that if you weren't year one it gives it to you after first ttk mission not sure if it's true. If it isn't you -blam!-ed cause it was a y1 exotic quest and those don't happen anymore

Buying legacy primary weapon engrams from xur is your best bet or doing old prison of elders

5 RepliesI remember getting the thorn by completing the bounty and then throwing it straight into the vault thinking only cowards use that weapon and at the time I was shit at shotgunning and thought only cowards use those aswell. My pride wouldn't let me use either but I soon realised that those 2 things go hand in hand 😂, and my kills and kill streaks drastically increased

The only way you can get thorn in the current state of the game is purchasing legacy engrams from xur for I believe 23 strange coins it has to be a primary as well

As far as I know, it will only drop from legacy engrams. It was originally only obtained from doing a quest line. I could be wrong. It may drop from chests, now.
