Year 2 player here. All it does is allow you to carry more ammo... Why did it get nerfed back then?

2 RepliesPvp. They ruined everything. No pve player has ever said ' I think this is too strong' since valus was nerfed
-
because of aids... I mean PVP.
-
The nerf ruined Monte Carlo(for me).
-
Had a year one machine gun with that perk pre nerf. On heavy pickup in pvp, I got 100 rounds and my mag held 150. In pve, the max ammo I could carry (with armor bonus) was 234.
-
As it increased your mag size and reserve ammo at the same time. Extended mag only did the mag increase but only by a few more rounds. Was really acno brainer. Id always go field scout.

8 RepliesNooby hunters usually 12 want everything to get nerfed that has killed them

1 ReplyBudget cuts.... Thanks Obama.
-
Because; babies. I could see a reason for MG and Specials. But why on primaries?
-
I had a machine gun in year 1 that had 150rd mag with 450rds in reserve when I used field scout and the right armour perks. That was a fun gun. Can't remember which one because after the nerf it was pretty weak.

Some guns were strong, and penalized with lower ammo count... Field scout gave the magazine maximum capacity, as well as reserve. This completely broke the balance of power because now these guns could just unload on 5-6 enemies without needing to reload. Around that time, Bungie changed their weapon perk structure. Give and take style. If you wanted more of one, you Gabe something else up. They wanted the perks to have less influence, and each weapon to have unique style. This is why they capped year 1 weapons, and released them again with the new perk structure. Field scout was one of my favorite perks, mainly because the weapons go through ammo so quickly, and it allowed more versatility and loads of ammo. Now I feel like I am constantly running out of ammo, and pray to rngesus that enemies wil leave ammo near my path while I'm raiding. The downside to field scout was what you gave up to use it... Unfortunately, they didn't balance the perks out very well. Much like now, there are plenty of perks that don't really do squat! And anytime you see them, it's a weapon scrap. Many y1 weapons I wouldn't touch without field scout, especially the conduit... A fwc pulse with 18 rounds.

Edited by julianwelton: 6/2/2016 3:12:14 PM*Sigh*... This game was so much better when it first came out (Weapon wise anyway). When you'd actually get unique weapons that felt powerful instead of everything you pick up feeling underwhelming. PvP really does -blam!- over PvE.

1 ReplyBecause Zombie Apocalypse WF47 was the greatest gun ever made, and some whiny bitches just couldn't handle that.
-
PvP cry babies. They ruin everything. Heavy and special ammo drops are the perfect example. 3v3/ToO cry babies are the worst.

1 ReplyPvp cry babies

1 Reply500 rounds with my prestige machine gun from new monarchy...in the crucible.
-
In year 1, the perk related to your mag In year 2 they didn't want MGs with 100 round mags, like corrective measure.
-
4 RepliesYou use to be able to grab 100 rounds of heavy ammo with thunderlord and pretty close to that with against all odds u could essentially have heavy until the next heavy got there rinse and repeat until everyone dies and u have like 50 kills
-
1 ReplyBecause bungie logic. Pocket infinity had field scout which allowed it to hold 8 rounds in the mag. Which was what made it a beautiful death spewing machine in crucible. Pewpewpewpewpewpewpewpew Bungie immediately cut that perk out and replaced it with something worthless. Now it goes Pewpewpew. After a bunch of unneeded adjustments that the gun class did not need, they gave it extended magazine so now it has a whole 5 bullets. Que year two where fusions and sidearms are still kinda worthless in competitive environments. Special ammo has been nerfed to hell and back again, and field scout gives the same effect as armor abilities.
yes, I just wanted to rant about bungie logic
Snipers with 6 round mags and 24 or so in reserve. Bungee decided to bring the fun factor down a few notches. Having to reload is kinda like having to get her a Diet Coke before you get down to business.
-
1 ReplyThey wanted to push all the perks that give you more of one thing for less of another, and field scout has no down side.
-
They ruined my vanquisher 8 :(
-
Because it was better than extended mag in every sense possible, including increasing the mag, lol
-
Was the only middle perk option people wanted,I ended up rolling my jolders for field scout and perfect balance so I could switch once I had grabbed heavy in pvp....yeh I was quite sweaty in year 1 :P Also made pve a joke with re-rollable weps too.Spear with max reserve and 6 in mag,add surplus to that (and clown if you like) and it starts to get ridiculous.

7 RepliesEverybody whines that it's because PvP imbalance. Anyone ever stop to think it made PvE easy mode as well? As if you couldn't defeat everything in this game with melees anyway... Stop whining and play the game. Sure I get upset when I have to change how I play in any part of the game. Doesn't really matter in the end, I'm still gonna play destiny. I'm still not gonna suck no matter what I wield, and it'll still be fun - the whole reason I play it. - Bboy

It allowed fate bringer 13 shots as a handcannon. It allowed 27 shots in vision of confluence scout rifle. It was soooooo OP.

6 RepliesTwo old perks that increased Magazine Size was Extended mag and Field Scout, not talking about fusions right now with enhanced battery. Field scout was the same as extended mag and gave you more reserves. It made extended mag obsolete. ~I'll Ram your ass!
