In fact, I absolutely love ESO! Best freaking thing ever!
Apparently there's this thing where people who played the prior Elder Scrolls games really disliked ESO. Then again, the game did have a terrible launch supposedly.
I just started playing a week ago as a Breton Sorc and it is soooo much fun!

That moment when you finally find a good destro staff from an advanced chest you opened, but when you clear an item from your inventory, someone comes and swipes the staff.

Noob question:
Tried playing Alliance wars. I haven't unlocked Cyrodiil or Imperial City yet and was told I have to be in an AVA location to participate in the PVP. I was told by the game to buy a DLC that would give me access. Is this necessary, or will I eventually be able to get to those cities without paying for DLC?

1 ReplyEdited by Seraphim Crypto: 5/28/2016 8:41:15 AMI played Skyrim too, and really enjoyed it (spent hundreds of hours in it). I think ESO is a great game. Even while here and there are some lore discrepancies (which really only diehard fans care about), it's still a well made game. It's easy to learn, hard to master. Currently playing as a Khajiit Nightblade, and leveling all the skills is fun too. Even while some races are better suited for certain playstyles than others, you can still play everything you want. I started playing bows exclusively, but when I started the second Alliance area I changed to Two Handed Heavy Armor and oh man it's awesome. The graphics are awesome too (as long as you don't look closely) and the fact that you can visit so many places you may even recognise from earlier Elder Scrolls games makes my heart jump. The only thing I dislike about ESO so far are the ridiculous "micro"-transactions. $35 for a mount? Which looks cool, but otherwise is purely cosmetic? And with the upcoming Dark Brotherhood DLC you can now buy up to 4 additional 4 character slots... why do I have to BUY them? But. 99% of the time you can ignore the microtransactions of the game. They're not impacting your game play at all. So yeah.

ESO is amazing. I've put 1000+ hours into it. I don't mean to sound cocky but I'm also pretty dang good at it, I run Veteran Maelstrom Arena's daily and they are pretty easy for me.

1 ReplyEdited by BFGesus: 5/28/2016 8:50:22 AMEso is a garbage take on the elder scrolls lore. The combat system sucks too. Why do nords get a flaming spear?

1 ReplyDo you play on pc? I do and I can't log in even though I put in the correct password. I don't know what's going on!

I loved ESO.

I'm the same way. ESO is just a different game, so people hated it for that. And it's launch.
-
It's pretty fun!
-
Because ESO is bad ass
-
2 Replies90% of that was due to how terrible it was when it launched. It's way better now.

1 ReplyRunescape was more intriguing than ESO.

Played that launch on PC, stopped playing after a week. Skyrim was Ok but it's also my second least played Bethesda game, fallout 4 is probably the first. Think I'm just done with their games unless there is a major change.

I enjoyed the story and lore of ESO, but, I only hit Vet Rank 2 before I stopped all together, it's just one big grind, which comes with the territory of MMOs, but, I think a lot of backlash came from players of the series not being use to what a lot of MMOs feature.

1 ReplyI was gonna buy ESO because I've been wanting a MMO style game for a while but the reviews for it say it's really bad and crappy and super buggy and other stuff say I just said nah and I'll wait for blizzard to put WOW on console one day

I just started playing eso again. I just made a new character in EP cause it's the only place I haven't played yet.

Edited by montythedeadgoat: 5/27/2016 7:50:46 AMI love it too, so far one glitch that had a solution online and I have gotten stuck on scenery a couple of times but that's it. I have just started the final area in Cadwell's gold and have done easy single mission I can find upto this point. I don't really see what the complaints are, yes there are changes to make it work as a MMO (mainly to do with money and the value and amount of loot you find) but they seem to make sense to me.
