I just got an interesting NL Shadow Scout with crowd control, explosive rounds and outlaw. Will outlaw be useless unless I chose another perk (e.g. injection molded) instead of explosive rounds?

Edited by moke: 5/23/2016 3:43:53 PMWhen you use explosive round you deal damage in 2 phases. First the bullet, then the explosion. Say a precision shot deals a combined damage of 100, 50 from the bullet, 50 from the explosion. If you hit someone with 50 or lower health the perks requiring headshots will proc since it was the bullet that killed him. If you hit someone with higher health it won't because the explosive damage killed him.

Explosive rnds has a chance to interfere with outlaw and firefly because the aoe damage may actually get the kill not the headshot. I noticed this when fatebringer was able to be acended with etheric light.

I never used explosive on FB because of this issue, unless it's been fixed. It also makes it harder to land headshots in the first place IMO

Yes but sometimes Outlaw might not work. It just makes it inconsistent.

2 RepliesYes it can proc but its inconsistent, I have an Imago Loop with outlaw explosive rounds and reactive reload and outlaw sometimes procs but it does so yea

go look up a yr1 fatebringer review that should answer your question.

It does on my Lethe noblesse.

3 RepliesIt will work but it is more difficult because if you get the base headshot damage and that leaves them at a sliver of health and the explosive rounds finish them off, it won't count towards outlaw.
