nothing
Edit: deleted b/c of edit 3
Edit 2: The general gist of everyone's responses is to engage it at a range, which makes sense. However unless you're on Widows Court that isn't a very practical strategy. The maps in Destiny just favor close quarters engagements far too highly.
Edit 3: After reading most of the responses, I will agree that it isn't unbeatable but it is too strong. Personally I think the amount of effort it takes for someone to beat a Doctrine in a 1v1 is a lot higher than it is for the person using the Doctrine.
Edit 4: Kind of surprised I'm still seeing posts, but just to clarify I meant primaries that consistently work well against the Doctrine. Also try to list ones specifically used in Trials (since that's when those Doctrine users are at their sweatiest). And to get even more specific (if you like) the primary you used to beat a Doctrine on your 8/0 or 9/0 game.

Actually quite a lot, I thrashed a Doctrine user with The Scholar (Adept) the other day in Trials. Even though it's a year 1 weapon it still 4 shots in Trials and Iron Banner.

The player counters it with any gun.

I'm an avid doctrine user and I was using finalas peril yesterday and countering the doctrine no problem. Maybe you should go practice some more instead of complaining?

Skill. Just because ur bad at countering it doesn't make it op

If you're not using a high rof auto, then Distance counters doctrine and the other two high ROF autos (soulstealer and Arminius). Let's use bannerfall map which is this week's trials for example. If you are in the circular courtyard with the two half open doors and big opening towards the tree, you are too close to a doctrine user if you don't get the drop on them. If the doctrine user is roughly in the middle of the courtyard and you're say down the steps pretty close to the big oblong structure, you'll have a huge advantage with a pulse or scout since that would be considered more mid-range engagement distance.
