nothing
Edit: deleted b/c of edit 3
Edit 2: The general gist of everyone's responses is to engage it at a range, which makes sense. However unless you're on Widows Court that isn't a very practical strategy. The maps in Destiny just favor close quarters engagements far too highly.
Edit 3: After reading most of the responses, I will agree that it isn't unbeatable but it is too strong. Personally I think the amount of effort it takes for someone to beat a Doctrine in a 1v1 is a lot higher than it is for the person using the Doctrine.
Edit 4: Kind of surprised I'm still seeing posts, but just to clarify I meant primaries that consistently work well against the Doctrine. Also try to list ones specifically used in Trials (since that's when those Doctrine users are at their sweatiest). And to get even more specific (if you like) the primary you used to beat a Doctrine on your 8/0 or 9/0 game.

A good hawksaw can work well against it

Edited by Versus_Alternis: 5/19/2016 11:32:38 PMThe problem isn't Doctrine, its PvP as a whole. The Crucible was never meant to be competitive, it was meant to be a fun break from PvE. The minute Bungie realized the community wanted PvP to be competitive they should have shut down PvP, balanced it and re-released it with either CE or HoW with little to no major changes being made from there on out. Over the last two years this games meta has consistently changed and gear is consistently nerfed because Bungie cannot balance PvP because at its core it was not made for competitive play in mind.. No other game who takes its PvP seriously has had that many major changes. I am hoping with Destiny 2 Bungie learns from the mistake that is Destiny. Its gun play is sound and idea great however, the execution of both PvE and PvP is a disappointment.

Range counters it pretty hard.

Answer to #4: Hawksaw/PDX 45 I used a Hawksaw in my last few flawless runs. Hawksaw is the #2 most used primary in trials by the top 100 players in the world. PDX, is #4. Hawsaw/PDX are essentially the SAME gun, so when you add them together, they are the #1 most used primary for trials Source: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6u0pqza_CsXNGwxRXVYZWh3NmM

A good Hawkmoon shot will beat any gun. If any of the additional damage bullets land, you're done.

Quite simply, aim/accuracy. Precision head shots with anything vs body shots.

Mida has countered mine many times. Also a good hand cannon has sent me to the grave. Nobody is gonna win every battle, just how it is...

Hawksaw can counter pretty well. I think it's easier to land head shots with hacksaw or pdx
-
Soul Stealer's Claw or Arminius D can do toe to toe with it easy. Really it's just who can land more cuts before someone drops.

4 RepliesNot playing crucible counters the Doctrine every time...100% effective.

Literally any gun+some amount of skill. I suck massively at PvP in this game, and I've managed to gun down lots of people who had doctrine of passing.

Distance. The autorifles are no match for range
