With as much aim assist they got. Takes no skill. Take aim assist off n we will see a lot less snipers

It's insane the amount of forum posts you see claiming they are op. They in no way need a nerf. All other guns need a buff. I can remember when pulse rifles were dominant and not one single person cried about snipers. Or rememeber when shotguns ran rampant thats right no one complained about snipers. Thing is every dam secondary has been nerfed due to incessant tears flooding the forums. This game lacks diversity and anyone who has asked for a nerf is to blame for this slow paced game. If we had more consistent shotguns and a range buff bam more diversity and less people using snipers. Same could go for fusions because face it theres at least 2 that are only good. And for sidearms they need to be a lot better. Harldy anyone uses them. All this is a sniper fix without doing a dam thing to them.

Snipers are in a good spot right now. If u nerf any further, they won't be viable in sweats or top tier pvp. It's already hard enough to snipe against good players. I mainly run shotty because I play really aggressive, but snipers aren't the problem right now, it's people's playstyles. Snipers feel op right now because primaries feel weak. In year 1, snipers didn't feel as op because primaries posed a greater threat. Time to kill across all primaries was a lot faster. If u were a sniper and missed ur first shot, odds r u would lose the gunfight. Because time to kill has gotten a lot slower, people now have time to get off 2-3 shots. Snipers aren't a problem right now, it's other guns that need buffs and people to change their playstyles. People have to have better map awareness and question their movements before acting. I always preach to the people I help carry in trials. Avoid the sniper lanes, if u know they have the lane hardscoped, get another angle. The majority of the time u peek, u will get picked off. For the sniper problem to go away, primaries need to be buffed but that won't happen because bungie never listens to players who know what they are talking about. They will just continue to nerf things and new problems will arise. Bungie never looks at the big picture when nerfing.

While zooming and being shot. Your scope should kick but not return to center. When i snipe and am being shot. I can pull this retarded flinching shot off. I feel like i cheated to get that kill.

I do very well with a sniper. it hardly takes any skill. Why? Every one is the same height. If you hit body just fast swap to primary and tap them off. So easy. Time to kill even after hitting body then swapping is ridiculous. I do it all the time. Sniping needs sway imo. I love sniping but other weapons need buffed more. Stop nerfing. Start buffing

Skill and luck because if you can't fight face to face why not get good and hide in a corner and try picking people off from a distance. I can give those people some credit since if your good at it why not give yourself easy kills. Not to change the topic but same the same goes for shotguns but that's mostly because bungie keeps -blam!-ing with them, nerf this tiny buff there and repeat.

10 Replies41% of the people agreeing with No obviously suck A$$ at sniping so clearly it takes skill if half the community is bad at it. Unless you suck at it then sniping is really hard and losers will always have to think of an excuse. It's almost as bad as "they must be cheating" or "hackers" when their really the ones who are just making excuses and not getting gud scrubs. Sniping takes skill. I feel bad for all the noobs who can't snipe. But I won't go out of my way to say they are OP, cuz they aren't one bit. Snipers & scouts are about the only thing Bungie did right for as far as the current state of the game goes.

I always laugh when people say sniping takes real skill. Yeah, guns that literally lock onto and track the head from across the map takes skill..... Body shot and switch to primary to hit with one bullet takes skill....... Its the easiest way to kill people in destiny currently. No risk all reward.

Yes, but less so than in some other games. It still takes some skill do properly snipe, but it's more forgiving in destiny than a few others

6 RepliesNo scope sway, or descoping when shot. Makes for easier kills.. however a trash player wont become magically better because they picked up a sniper. Not op just easy to use compared with other games...would rather be one shot by a sniper than a corner camper with a shotty..that shit takes no skill, just look at radar and wait, The cheapest tactic in any shooter.

5 RepliesThe skill gap is huge. It doesn't take much skill to be an okay sniper, but to be a consistently great sniper, it takes more skill than any kind of gunplay in Destiny. I noticed that the people that said it doesn't take skill are primarily using non-sniper weapons, so I understand some bias may be at work here.

Only things about Sniping that I hate is that it promotes camping and the simple fact that I can unload some bullets into a Sniper's head but it does absolutely nothing.

Yes but de scope needs to be a thing. I get the odd twitch kill when weak that I know shouldn't happen. I also realise that aim assist dropped the crosshair perfectly on the Guardians dome.

Unfortunately the major problem, auto recenter, can't really be fixed with their engine and do to that aim assist is made even worse. Drag scoping should be the most viable sniping technique. When you're abusing mechanics instead of aiming there is a problem

1 ReplyIn this game absolutely not. Sniping is way easier than it should be and I have never seen it as much in other pvp games I've played. Not cod or halo or battlefield which are all better at pvp than destiny imo. That should tell you that it's out of control and something needs to be done.
